First-Ever Standalone NCUIH Bill Passes Congress to Shore Up Resources for Urban Indians Urban Indian frontline health workers will now have the same coverage as their other health system counterparts. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 20, 2020 (Washington, DC) – On December 20, the Senate voted to pass to H.R. 6535 by unanimous consent to pass H.R. 6535 to extend Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) coverage to urban Indian organizations (UIOs) instead of having to divert scarce resources away from health care to foot exorbitant insurance costs. On December 17, the United States House of Representatives passed by unanimous consent under suspension of the rules. The passage of this non-controversial bill is a step forward in creating parity within the Indian Health System to ensure that the trust and treaty responsibility is upheld by the US government. ....
Gives them and turn that into a win. it s going to just be if the gop loses, the house majority seems likely. if there is a real wave, it s possibility that it s less likely and there will be fast pirouetting happening on the republican side of the aisles and shore up resources and confidence in the party before you get to 2020 which is when the president himself is up for reelection. if they win, then it will seem like the president can take that and run with that and build momentum because he doesn t have clear opponents for 2020 himself. whatever the president said or doesn t say, it s a revereferen on how satisfied the country is with his presidency and he acknowledged that by saying that himself. the president is focussed on 2020 and he s thinking about that. he took a swipe at the field of democrats that could possibly make a run. take a listen. ....
