Centre declares Hizb-ul commander Showkat Sheikh, 1 other as terrorist under UAPA -

The Centre on Tuesday designated Showkat Ahmed Sheikh, the Chief Launching Commander of terror organisation Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen, as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, on accusations of promoting terror atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir. Hizb-ul-Mujahideen member Imtiyaz Ahmad Kandoo has also been declared as terrorist under the act.
