Issues related to women safety and children should be the priority of all governments, said Shrishti Goswami who was made Uttarakhand's Chief Minister for a day on Sunday to mark the National Girl Child day. Shrishti, 20, who has made her recommendations to the state government on a range of issues, says though women's safety situation has certainly improved over the years, a lot still needs to be done.

Uttarakhand: On the eve of National Girl Day which is celebrated on January 24 every year, 20-year-old Shrishti Goswami from Haridwar becomes chief minister of Uttarakhand for one day.
This is for the first time in the history of Uttarakhand, a girl has become the state's chief minister, even if it is symbolic and just for a day.

Shrishti Goswami was designated as one-day Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Shrishti Goswami, a 19-year-old girl, was designated as one-day Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on the occasion of National Girl Child day on Sunday.
Speaking on the development, Ms Goswami's elated parents said, "Today we feel very proud, every daughter can achieve a milestone, we just need to support them. We want to thank the government a lot for considering our daughter worthy of this."
"Never stop supporting your daughters. In today's time, daughters can achieve everything. This should be an example for everyone. If she can achieve this milestone, every other daughter is capable of doing so. We are thankful to Trivendra Singh Rawat for giving Srishti this opportunity," said Praveen Puri, Srishti Goswami's father.

DEHRADUN: 19-year-old Shrishti Goswami from Haridwar who took charge as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on Sunday in Gairsain of Chamoli district excelled as CM and received praises from Trivendra Singh Rawat.
"Such opportunities provide our future leaders with insight and experience as to what goes on in building the nation. She did very well as CM of the Children Vidhan Sabha. Our daughters are more than capable in bringing transformation in family, society, nation and the world," CM Rawat said praising Goswami.

Shrishti Goswami from Haridwar is set to take over as the
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for a day on National Girl Child Day. Started from 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the day is observed on January 24 every year to raise awareness on gender-based discrimination.
With the nod of approval from current CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, the young leader will reportedly administer from the state’s summer capital, Garsain. Shrishti will review various schemes run by the state government including Atal Ayushman Scheme, Smart City project, the tourism department’s Homestay Scheme, and other development projects.
