Express News Service NEW DELHI: The slogan “Kisan Ekta Zindabad” reverberate through the atmosphere at Ghazipur farmers protest site on this cold January night on Thursday. “This has been a peaceful protest since day one and continues to be so. Those people who climbed into Red Fort on Republic Day were planted by the BJP government to defame our campaign. We are sitting here for around two months now, not just to go back empty-handed” said Kuldeep Singh Boprai farmer from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Amid “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” sloganeering every other protestor at the site is doing a Facebook live with friends and family. Many talk about family members and friends who have already started moving to Ghazipur protest site to support the agitation. ....
Farmers also marched on foot in large numbers holding flags of different unions and raising slogans. Some were seen riding motorcycles and horses. People also perched atop their tractors and raised slogans and sang revolutionary songs. Locals were also seen distributing food and water bottles to the protesting farmers who were part of the march. A senior police officer who was at the spot said that a group of farmers entered the national capital after breaking the barricades. As per agreement, they were supposed to start their parade at the time specified but they forcefully entered Delhi and are currently peacefully sitting at Mukarba Chowk. ....
Express News Service NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has directed four private hospitals for creating separate institutional isolation units for people who test positive for the new version of virus and have came back from the United Kingdom to Delhi in the last one month. Bracing itself for the patients carrying new mutant version of the virus with them in the city, the Delhi government has passed an order saying the ongoing treatment protocols - like home isolation - will not be applied in this case and patients will be put in a separate isolated facility. In order to create institutional isolation facility in the private sector for international passengers who have travelled from or transited through United Kingdom in the past four weeks (25th November to 24th December, 2020) and tested positive, the authorities of the following private hospitals are directed to establish separate (isolation) units, the government order said. ....
