ISLAMABAD: Inflationary pressure is increasing as prices of palm, soybean and crude oil, and tea have gone significantly up in the international market, the ministry of finance said on Thursday.
In a monthly economic report, the ministry of finance said consumer price index- (CPI) based inflation increased by 11.1 percent on a year-on-year basis in April 2021 as compared to an increase of 8.5 percent in April 2020, mainly due to an increase in prices of food items and clothing and footwear.
In the international market prices of palm oil and soybean oil prices have increased during last year. ....

TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - The Japanese stock market is significantly higher on Tuesday, reversing losses of the previous session, with the benchmark Nikkei index just above the 29,800 level, despite the weak cues overnight from Wall Street. The market is supported by gains across all sectors as the government enhances their response to tackle the surging coronavirus cases.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 Index is gaining 312.91 points or 1.06 percent to 29,851.64, after touching a high of 29,859.05 earlier. Japanese shares closed lower on Monday.
Market heavyweight SoftBank Group is gaining almost 1 percent and Uniqlo operator Fast Retailing is up more than 2 percent. Among automakers, Honda is up almost 2 percent and Toyota is gaining more than 1 percent. ....
