Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar, accused in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case involving the alleged killing of a father-son duo, had his statement recorded in the Rouse Avenue court. The case concerns the rioting and alleged murder of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh in the Raj Nagar area. The court framed charges against Kumar under various IPC sections. While he was discharged for murder and causing grievous hurt, final arguments are scheduled for November 30, 2023.

CBI has recently filed a fresh charge sheet in relation to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots across the country, where it has been revealed that Congress leader Jagdish Tytler played a major role.
