While it's been in operation outside of Tampa in Riverview for decades, the iconic Ybor restaurant has finally returned to its home city.

Two childhood friends who used to make Cuban sandwiches together are coming out of retirement to reopen an iconic restaurant.

The Silver Ring Café, on Munn Park, opened in 1986 and will be closing in August because its landlord did not renew the lease stating that downtown Lakeland is changing and there’s an opportunity for a different business to go into that space.
