Bentley powers down with new V8 Flying Spur: lighter model also comes with lighter price tag

Compared to the W12, then, the V8 is literally a lightweight. Not metaphorically, though, Bentley says. The twin-turbocharged engine will still pump out 542 brake horsepower, which will get you from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.1 seconds and allow a top speed of 318kph.
Agility is key to the V8 – ride stability has been improved due to a revamp in weight distribution and, of course, all this slenderness will ensure the car goes a lot further before you have to pull into the petrol station for a fill-up. Always a bonus in a big car.
The V8 is available in eight colours, and in four and five-seat configurations. It also incorporates the usual portfolio of intelligent and intuitive equipment tailored to the driver and passengers, including a new touchscreen in the rear. The car balances delicacy and craftsmanship, with a choice of seats in five hide hues.

Road test: New BMW M3 and M4 tear up Yas Marina Circuit

The unveiling, as is commonplace, was akin to a curtain being pulled slowly aside to reveal a great work of art on a museum tour, and while this might be over the top for, say, a new family runabout, this seemed apt for bona fide modern classics like the M3 and M4.
The sun shone down on all the shiny metal in a variety of less-than-subtle colours as the cars were revealed in Yas’s pit lane, the electric doors rising achingly slowly to show the new vehicles.
Everyone had seen pictures of the new models in advance, so there were no revelations about their appearance. Even so, there would have been few sharp intakes of breath if this hadn’t been the case, as the design changes are subtle. The new models come with BMW’s new fierce kidney grille, but otherwise they resemble recent M3s and M4s.

Formally a standalone luxury brand, the Maybach is one of the German marque’s most opulent offerings. This being the case, it’s a vehicle that will probably not be driven by those who buy one. That doesn’t mean it will sit around gathering dust, though – it’s an indicator that a lot of customers will be sitting in the back while a chauffeur does the honours.
So, driving and handling aside, it’s all about the comfort of the ride. Mercedes describes the new Maybach S-Class as being a vehicle with “the utmost grace”, assuring “maximum comfort” and an “aura of grandeur”.
