"Simulation-based multi-objective optimization model for machinery allo" by Kamal Jaafar and Laith Ishaq El-Halawani

Earthworks in construction projects are performed in the early stages in construction and in most construction projects, earthworks are considered very costly. Project managers find difficulties in finishing solutions to minimize the time & cost of earthworks in construction projects. To assist project managers in decision making, this paper will introduce a simulation-based model to optimize the earthworks machines based on their productivity rates. Previous attempts to solve this issue resulted in finding the optimal number of machines that needs to be allocated, without taking into consideration the fluctuation of productivity rates of the machines during the execution stage; as well as previous models were applied during the planning phase of the project only. This paper will use a Multi-Objective Optimization Model that will minimize the duration and cost of the earthworks process by using multi-objective genetic algorithms that can be applied during both the planning and exec ....

"Environmental data science: Part 1" by Andrew Zammit-Mangion, Nathaniel K. Newlands et al.

Environmental data science is a multi-disciplinary and mature field of research at the interface of statistics, machine learning, information technology, climate and environmental science. The two-part special issue ‘Environmental Data Science’ comprises a set of research articles and opinion pieces led by statisticians who are at the forefront of the field. This editorial identifies and discusses common strands of research that appear in the contributions to Part 1, which largely focus on statistical methodology. These include temporal, spatial and spatio-temporal modeling; statistical computing; machine learning and artificial intelligence; and the critical question of decision-making in the presence of uncertainty. This editorial complements that of Part 2, which largely focuses on applications; see Burr, Newlands, and Zammit-Mangion (2023). ....

Both people were concerned perhaps about their symptoms, so they re going to get treated and talking about perhaps their problems to figure out what s going on and in this case, you know, we don t know what president biden is concerned about and what he s talking to his physician about, so we re not seeing necessarily a battery of tests. it doesn t sound like a bunch of cognitive tests were performed. usually you could have norco psych testing performed if you re concerned about language. as people get older there could be problems with memory, word recall, kind of remembering the correct name for things and executive functioning. a lot will have trouble with their bank accounts, balancing their budgets, kind of paying their bills on time, driving. sometimes we ll send people for driving simulation so in this case none of these things are really being done. now, president biden also is he has atrial fibrillation. a person can develop dementia if they ve had multiple strokes. these ar ....
