Photo courtesy of IN Five new cybersecurity programs at Boise State University were recently approved by the Idaho State Board of Education, and now, with industry partnerships, the university can move ahead with developing courses. Four of these programs are planned to come online this fall. “(There are) so many people I’d like to thank,” said Sin Ming Loo, an electrical engineering professor in the cybersecurity discipline who helps lead its development. “It’s not one person's idea; it is so many pieces that put it into a whole package.” Approved in just about a year’s time, the programs are an undergraduate and graduate degree in cyber operations and resilience, an analyst and threat intelligence certificate, a resilience engineering certificate and a governance policy administration certificate, anticipated to come fall 2022. Boise State Online February 18, 2021 The College of Engineering (COEN) at Boise State University received unanimous approval from the Idaho State Board of Education to launch new online cyber operations and resilience (CORe) programs for fall 2021. These programs are a collaboration between COEN, Extended Studies and the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity. The new programs include a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience, a Master of Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience and three graduate certificates: Analyst and Threat Intelligence, Resilience Engineering and Governance Policy Administration. The Governance Policy Administration graduate certificate will be available to students in fall 2022. The existing undergraduate cyber operations certificate curriculum, funded for three years by the Idaho Workforce Development Council starting in 2019, served as a foundational building block to developing the new online CORe programs.
