Around 50% of healthcare workers who received the primary Johnson & Johnson vaccination during phase one of the Sisonke programme have received a booster dose.
More than 230,000 healthcare workers have so far received a Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine booster shot, compared to more than 496,000 who’ve received their first jab during phase 1 of the programme earlier this year.
More than 477 000 healthcare workers were administered the J&J vaccine at the start of the trial back in February
The province also saw a 53% increase in Covid-19 cases over the past two weeks according to data released by the department of health.
