Three members of the Louisiana Ragin Cajun were honored for their play throughout the 2020-2021 women s college basketball season by being named to the Sun Belt s All-Conference Teams, which was announced on Thursday.
Seniors Ty Doucet and Skyler Goodwin, along with junior Brandi Williams were all named to the squad.
Doucet, a center, was named to the First Team, while Williams and Goodwin, both guards, were named to the Secon Team and Third Team, respectively.
A native of Ville Platte, Doucet became the first Ragin Cajun to earn First Team honors since Jaylyn Gordon did so following the 2016-17 season, while also being tabbed the Sun Belt s Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to garner the recognition.

The Ragin’ Cajuns overcame a sluggish first quarter to overtake the Little Rock Trojans 58-48 in their Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinal game at Pensacola Bay Center on Sunday afternoon. Louisiana went 4-0 against Little Rock this season.

After the two teams traded three pointers to start the game, Little Rock grabbed a lead with a three-pointer by Mayra Caicedo and then a layup off a turnover by Tia Harvey. A few minutes later, Little Rock pushed the lead to six with another three by Caicedo.

Senior guard Skyler Goodwin was tabbed as the Park Place Surgical Hospital Play of the Week, as she helped Louisiana to three home wins over a four-day period, extending its win streak to nine games in the process.
A native of Baton Rouge, Goodwin averaged 13.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in two wins over Arkansas St. and one over UTA, as the Cajuns improved to 9-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.
In a 52-49 win over Arkansas St. last Friday night at the Cajundome, Goodwin compiled 13 points and eight rebounds, before scoring a season-high 24 points, including 21 in the second half, to go along with six rebounds, to help lift UL to a 73-61 triumph over the Red Wolves on Saturday.
