Originally from Slaton, Texas, Tom wore Slaton Tiger jersey #24 and enjoyed the aggressive acquisition of real-estate on the grid-iron at a time when real men wore leather helmets without face-masks, high-top leather cleats and marked their march to the goal-line with real pigskin.
