ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries have asked the government through a SOS (Save Our Soul) call for reducing prices of electricity and ensuring a smooth supply of gas otherwise the cost of doing business would go up leading to cancellation of exports orders.
The Presidents of all Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries also demanded of the government for consulting them on CPEC projects, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), slashing down the rate of GST to a single digit, abolishing of withholding taxes, reducing rate of electricity and ensuring smooth supply of gas to kick-start economic activities. They asked for construction like packages so that industrial sector could play its due role. ....

Islamabad : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman on Wednesday directed to remove all barriers from the roads to ensure smooth traffic flow and reactivate traffic-citizen liaison committee.
According to details, the Islamabad police chief himself visited the main avenues of Islamabad including Expressway, Faisal Avenue, Kashmir Highway, Murree Road, Bhara Kau, 7th avenue and directed to ensure smooth traffic flow. He asked to remove barriers from the Faizabad Police check post hindering smooth traffic flow.
He assigned the task to SSP (Traffic) Farrukh Rasheed to reactivate the traffic-citizen liaison committee within 10 days which would point out traffic-related issues. ....

ISLAMABAD: The government and the opposition are expected to resume the second round of their talks on Monday (today) for smooth sailing of the National Assembly’s current session.
A government team headed by Defense Minister Pervez Khattak had contacted the opposition on Friday seeking its cooperation for smooth sailing of the assembly’s current session but the talks ended without results after which it was decided to meet again on Monday (January 25). ISLAMABAD: The government Friday contacted the opposition to seek its cooperation for smooth sailing of the current National Assembly session.
The first meeting drew a blank. However, it was decided to meet again for the second round Monday afternoon prior to the session. The government team, led by Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, came into the chamber of the opposition leader to seek their cooperation.
