South Africa has recorded 5 074 new Covid-19 cases in the latest 24 hour period, the fourth consecutive that the country breached the 5 000 mark.

South Africa’s total identified cases stands at 1 696 564.
Gauteng is still leading with 22 065 active cases, accounting for 28% of the country’s total active cases.
In the latest statistics released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, there has been 45 new Covid-19 related deaths.
Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West recorded zero new fatalities.
KwaZulu-Natal recorded only 1 case.
