Lightning strikes Lincoln police headquarters
Lincoln Police headquarters was hit by lightning Saturday.
A dispatcher confirmed that the station on River Road was hit when severe thunderstorms rolled through the area starting in the afternoon.
According to WJAR-TV, the strike hit the station s radio tower and injured a dispatcher, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.
No other information about the dispatcher s condition or damage to the building was immediately available.
The thunderstorms that moved through Southern New England Saturday afternoon and evening resulted in multiple lightning strikes to buildings and left many area roads flooded.
