Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Wrapping up the regular season on Friday, Scott City would face Hugoton for their final tuneup before regional play on Monday. The Lady Beavers would start slowly in the first game and build up steam after that, as they picked up a pair of run-rule games 11-0 and 21-6.

It would take five innings for the Lady Beavers to win their first game of the afternoon. A scoreless game would change with two outs in the bottom of the first, when Malorie Cupp took a fly ball over the centerfield fence to give Scott City a 1-0 lead. The big inning the Lady Beavers needed would take place in the bottom of the third, when they took advantage of Hugoton errors. They would score five runs, as Hannah Tucker drove in a run early, and Cupp delivered on a two-run single in the inning, as the scoring was capped when Makayla Miller reached on an error that scored Cupp to make it 6-0. (westernkansasnews.com)–Coming off a 10-day layoff, the Scott City Lady Beaver softball team returned to the diamond Friday afternoon to face the Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs in non-league play. The Lady Beavers would take care of business in both games, coming away with wins of 15-0 and 18-2 in a pair of contests that did not make it past the sixth inning.

Southwestern Heights would collect two hits to start things off, but would come empty handed in their first at bat. Scott City was consistent in their scoring, putting up five runs in the three innings of play. The Lady Beavers got things going with a bang, as Hannah Tucker hit a two-run home run to get the scoring started. Cheyenne Cramer, and Makayala Miller would drive in runs in the opening inning. In the second frame, Tucker, Tori Ford, Cramer and Rhiley Stoppel would drive in a run each to make it 10-0. The inning saw three doubles out of the five RBI opportunity
