The launch on sunday. now of course it remains to be if jeff bezos will be present. i have a feeling he is very busy preparing for his own suborbital space flight scheduled for july 20th, the 52nd anniversary of the moon landing. so a lot of exciting stuff happening in the space community in the next few days. now here at space port america, richard branson has been putting himself through the paces of the astronaut training program because his objective on this space flight is to test the astronaut experience. of course, that experience begins before they enter into the cabin. they need to be of course briefed on all of the safety protocols of the spaceship and know what to expect. that is what he s been doing. today is his down day and with family and friends enjoying this moment, soaking it all in before the world gets to watch this incredible journey scheduled for sunday. boris. rachel crane reporting from ....

Who could become astronauts in future years. and yeah, looking forward to seeing a lot of these people off in future years to come. reporter: now, brianna, richard branson has been on site with his fellow mission specialists and the pilots going through training the past couple days here at space port america. and i want to tell you a little bit about the flight he is going to experience on sunday. vss unity, the spaceship will be mated to the mothership which is called eve. mothership will transport the spaceship to 40,000 feet aboveground, that s when the spaceship will be released and literally dropped right before the rocket the rocket motor ignites, transporting branson more than 50 miles above earth. that s when he ll get those astronaut wings experience a few minutes of precious weightlessness before gliding back down to earth. brianna? very cool. very cool. rachel crane, live for us from new mexico. new day continues right now. ....

That experience, to leave the atmosphere and go into space and you re in a different world literally? yeah. it s quite an experience, pamela. in our case, there is a difference. we have private astronauts now, want to call them tourists, i don t consider them tourists, i consider them private astronauts. in our job as nasa astronauts, i have a couple of friends in space, two americans right now, megan and i flew together on my second mission. and that s a different sort of model. so it was going through your mind when you re a nasa astronaut getting ready to go is that you re going to be going for a while. you have a lot of responsibility. people are expecting you to do your job so there s a bit of stress. and a lot of anticipation associated with it. i hope in richard branson s case, you know, he s trained up, ready to go, the spaceship will do most of the work. i say the same for jeff bezos. i hope in their case they re really looking forward to the experience. i was, as well. it ....
