India spectrum auction: Spectrum auctions in 2-3 months, likely to be muted: DoT Secy
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India announced that spectrum auctions would be held in the next two to three months. The auction will primarily serve to replenish expiring spectrum for ongoing telecom operations. The secretary of DoT, Neeraj Mittal, suggested that the government's target for the auctions would be lower than the Rs 1.5 lakh crore ($20 billion) netted in the 5G spectrum auction in 2022.
