The Spencer Chamber Ambassadors visited Medlar Coffee Company on Tuesday to congratulate owners Cathy and Paul Veiseth and Heather and Kerry Belgrave on the move to their new location at 324 Grand Ave. Cathy and Heather said they can't believe the difference a few blocks has made for their business. Medlar was at their previous location for two years before making the move to be directly on Grand Avenue. They will soon be finishing a back patio area behind their storefront, on the east side.
The Spencer Chamber Ambassadors visited Farmers Bank Tuesday to welcome new mortgage bankers, Kristy Mills and Payton Johnson. They are currently working on a new website which will include features like rate watch, loan applications and a resource center. The Spencer Chamber Ambassadors welcomed new Clay County Fair & Events Center staff on Tuesday. Stacey Meyer, events services director, has worked with the fair for 12 years and accepted her promotion at the end of March. Emily Mars, social media specialist, also started in March with previous experience doing social media at other fairs. Tuesday morning, the Spencer Chamber Ambassadors were invited to witness Natasha and Andrew Mohror, owners of BlackEarth Java, in Spencer, present a $1,817 check to Spencer Community Schools speech department. During the State Large Group Speech Contest in February, hosted by Spencer High School, BlackEarth Java sold their signature lotus drinks and donated 40% of their profits back to the Speech Department.
