the disruption caused by the snow. there was a lot, some impressive snowfall totals as well, particularly across northern england and north wales too but for the vast majority of us it is a much quieter day of weather today, the amber warnings for snow and ice have expired, and there is lots of sunshine developing too, this is edinburgh, plenty of blue sky and sunshine, gorgeous day for much of scotland, even where we saw the blizzards earlier this morning across northern england. the winds have eased, they will continue to lighten as we head through the rest of the afternoon. why? because the deep area of low pressure has been giving us the snow but it is spinning away into the near continent as we head towards the end of the day. it will clear, the wintry mix across east anglia, the south east of england, will also clear away, the winds will ease down and it should brighten up here. there is lots of sunshine around. watch out for one or two showers, bit of a wintry fl ....
