For the second year in a row, graduation celebrations are virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Northwestern will host a remote University-wide commencement on June 14, but each school will have its own, separate in-person convocation. In keeping with COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, each student will be allowed four guests for the in-person ceremonies. With both the movement to abolish Greek life and the pandemic hindering membership numbers, several Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association organizations extended recruitment into Spring Quarter through continuous open bidding.  COB, an informal recruitment process, allows fraternities and sororities to hand out bids at their discretion. Northwestern announced the appointment of McCormick Prof. William Miller as next year’s One Book One Northwestern faculty chair in a Monday news release.  According to the release, Miller is a professor of chemical and biological engineering.
