Bayou Country Café celebrates grand opening in Houma
The new restaurant provides more parking for customers, as well as a consolidated cafeteria area that serves both restaurant visitors and TARC clients. The project has been a long time coming, according to Mary Lynn Bisland, TARC's executive director. The restaurant originally opened in 1982, and the new café cost $2.8 million over the span of three years. “We are all so excited. We have twice the size to what we had before, and the kitchen is three times the original size,” said Bisland. “It was a good move, in 40 or 50 years this place will still be here and it’s sustainable.”
