NEW BEDFORD — Amid some public outcry, the New Bedford Police Department is committed to thoroughly investigating how its officers handled a car crash involving City Councilor Hugh Dunn, said Lt. Scott Carola, the department's public information officer. Dunn hit two parked vehicles at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1.
