McGuire to Host Two Community Meetings Focusing on Wildfires

Del Norte County’s representative in the state senate will hold two public meetings focusing on wildfire prevention and preparedness.
These meetings come as California invests more than $1 billion this year on hiring hundreds more firefighters, purchasing additional equipment, including engines, helicopters, planes and bull dozers and creating more fire breaks, according to a news release from State Sen. Mike McGuire’s office.
The first meeting, held at noon Monday, will include the California Coastal Conservancy and will focus on its role in wildfire prevention, according to the news release. ....
