JOHN DAY — A driver going up the snow-blasted switchbacks of Canyon Mountain over Starr Ridge toward Seneca last week gave the thumbs up to a snowplow driver coming down the mountain. The John Day ODOT crew and their counterparts throughout Oregon this past week were busy making their runs up and down state highways and mountain passes, laying down sand and de-icer on the roadway and cutting a path to keep people safe on their travels.
