Coral reefs off South Florida's coast receive highest state level protections
The Florida policy manager for the Surfrider Foundation applauds the state for passage of a new law that names the reef tract off Broward and Palm Beach counties as an aquatic preserve, the highest level of protection the state can give. Now, federal officials should step up in expanding the southern portion within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
