Crews close out July and begin August in earnest, continuing to work to improve the area’s roadways.  Of note this week will be some high impact closures as well as the traffic switch coming next week to Montana, (watch the video via this link.)
Nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
 Southbound Interstate 110, the short freeway spur connecting US 54 to the Bridge of the Americas, will be closed to all traffic.
DETOUR: All traffic must enter México via another port of entry.
Crews will be relocating concrete safety barriers ....

A half-a-billion-dollar pothole in road funding has been patched over but key projects remain in jeopardy.
Money is especially scarce for state highway improvements, public transport infrastructure and the Government s flagship safety strategy Road to Zero.
This has come at a crucial time when the country s transport plans for the next three years are being drawn up, and as the Transport Agency (NZTA) tries to find new revenue sources amid a funding review. ....
