Public hearing set for 62-unit multifamily development in Farmington

An LLC controlled by developer Geoffrey Sager has submitted zoning applications to the town in connection with a proposed 62-unit mixed income development at 62 South Road in Farmington. Plans show two buildings, one with 36 units across 11,358 square feet and another with 29 units across 10,425 square feet, on a 2.9-acre site located between Middle and Munson roads.  Eighty-percent of the units would be designated as affordable housing under State Statute  8-30g, including 15 units reserved for Favarh clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mike Navarre attended his first Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly meeting as mayor Tuesday night, where assembly members offered more details on what the special election process will look like to find his successor. Navarre, who was appointed as interim mayor by a 7-2 vote of the assembly in September, officially took over on Oct. 1 for former Mayor Charlie Pierce.
