An LLC controlled by developer Geoffrey Sager has submitted zoning applications to the town in connection with a proposed 62-unit mixed income development at 62 South Road in Farmington. Plans show two buildings, one with 36 units across 11,358 square feet and another with 29 units across 10,425 square feet, on a 2.9-acre site located between Middle and Munson roads.  Eighty-percent of the units would be designated as affordable housing under State Statute  8-30g, including 15 units reserved for Favarh clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

With a plethora of stately homes and modest dwellings, both new and old, Farmington’s housing stock includes options for people at different stages of life, at various price points — as long as they’re willing to take out a mortgage. The dearth of multifamily construction in this town where business is booming has made it difficult for people seeking to relocate without the means or inclination to buy property, developers say. That’s about to change.
