Buchan and the University of Queensland have announced the recipient of the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Architecture Industry Scholarship, with Yidingi and Ngadjon woman Stacey Edwards being awarded the prestigious grant.
Working across health and mixed-use for over three decades, Stewart will utilise her expertise to craft outstanding design outcomes across the public and private health sectors. Upon joining the practice, Stewart says she was drawn to the role by the opportunity to affirm Buchan’s position as a health sector leader in both Australia and New Zealand.
Buchan and the University of Queensland will better support upcoming Indigenous architects through the Buchan Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Architecture Industry Scholarship, which will support a student through the entirety of their undergraduate studies.
Buchan has announced two new appointments in New Zealand, with both hires to work across all sectors for the practice and mentor emerging design talent.
