Your Letters: Feb. 24, 2021 Reader Submissions Freedom of speech in Barstow Mayor Paul Courtney, Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Rose and Councilwoman Marilyn Dyer-Kruse: How could you have asked us to vote for you and then refuse to hear our voices? Prior to the Jan. 19, 2021, Barstow City Council meeting, public comments were read out loud by the city clerk. On Jan. 19, that all changed. For the first time in my 40 years of attending meetings that did not happen. No comments of any kind, whether general or dealing with agenda items were read out loud to the public!
