COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - A non-profit says they are partnering with the Department of Social Services to provide siblings of four-year-old’s enrolled in the First Steps 4K program with free child care and after-school scholarships.
SC First Steps and the SC Department of Social Services say their new scholarship program is called “First Steps 4K + Siblings”. ....

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create learning barriers for our state’s youngest students, and many parents have been faced with the challenge of having to stay home from work because some schools aren’t fully open, and they can’t afford childcare.
This week, Governor Henry McMaster dedicated $5 million dollars from the Governor’s Education Emergency Relief (GEER) Fund to the South Carolina First Steps 4K program to help change that. ....
