A statement released by the city Friday would not identify the member, saying it would violate a federal law dealing with the privacy of health information. Davis said helping the veterans means a lot to her. “I treat them like I treated my father,” she said. “I think of my dad every day when I’m here taking care of them.” Davis’ father, Calvin McLaurin, died in 2014 on the day before his 75th birthday.
