(WMBF) - Like most new programs, the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball team endured some lean years after being founded in 2016. Head coach Steve Loeswick inherited the team three years ago and things have been trending up ever since. âI fell into a really lucky situation,â said Loeswick. âWhen they brought me on, we didnât have a ton of beach-only athletes. We had to use a lot from the indoor to kind of get us through those first couple of years. Last season, the Chanticleers were off to a 10-2 start to the 2020 spring season before the coronavirus pandemic abruptly canceled the season in mid-March. The Chants went 4-0 to win the UAB Tournament in late February and then went 3-1 at the CofC Beach Bash with the program’s first-ever win over the College of Charleston Cougars. ....
