Last month's ruling by Circuit Judge Judge Willliam Stone, granted a request for summary judgment and appeared to have decided the lawsuit in Ashley's favor. The Clerk of Courts website shows the case closed as of Nov. 13. Stone decided to let stand a determination of a Personnel Standards and Review Board that in 2018 upheld the sheriff's firing of the three men.
