You were being told this could be serious. do you think the night of you had enough warning of the storm? >> yeah. i felt personally that i had enough of a warning. you know, we had coverage right up until the time that it happened. i mean, as soon as the lights cut and we lost power is when the tornado had came through. so i think our local station did a great job of saving lives. i mean, they just did. people took their advice, and i think got to cover as much as they could. looking at the homes and the destruction, you know, some people probably were in their cars and just couldn't make it....

It took everything Kyanna Parsons-Perez had to keep from panicking after heavy winds collapsed the building she was in and pinned her to the ground under piles of heavy debris.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency following tornadoes throughout Western Kentucky on Friday night. One tornado moved through Mayfield, Kentucky, leaving a massive wake of damage and destroying several buildings.
