Joseph "Joe" Grubba
Retired Fire Chief Joseph âJoeâ Grubba Jr., died peacefully in his home on Jan. 13, 2021 in Galt, California at the age of 76, after a long battle with cancer. Joe was born in February of 1944 in Sacramento, CA to Joseph and Julie Grubba Sr. Joe graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1962. He married Irene Grubba, 1969. After moving to Herald, Joe began working at Elk Grove Meat Packing while also working for Herald Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.
