According to AAA, Memorial Day travelers will pay the highest gas prices since 2014. While the national gas price average has declined for the first time since the Colonial Pipeline Shutdown, it's going back up. The gas is cheaper in Stevenson County ($3.10) and Boone County ($3.04). So if you want to save a few pennies, you can always gas up out of town instead of the Rockford area.
