Longtime CPD detective, CBS 2 contributor J.J. Bittenbinder dies

John Joseph “J.J.” Bittenbinder was a former Chicago police detective and Cook County sheriff’s investigator who became nationally known for dispensing crime prevention tips in seminars and on television.

He taught people how to avoid being crime victims on TV’s ‘Tough Target’ and ‘Street Smarts’ and in a popular book. He also gave safety presentations at schools.
