At 1130 this morning. 10 minutes past 11 so well done to England they are through to next Saturday s Rugby World Cup final They have beaten New Zealand they have now it s find out whether it s Wales or South Africa they ll face in the final next Saturday morning right we ve got a bit of a problem kids and it s all because Sean who is our gardener for this morning has popped in God bless him he s driven all the way here to say good morning to his but unfortunately Sean trying to say good morning come on in his voice is gone and we were hoping that by the time his daughter arrived it got some coffee he was hopefully going to you know so allude to vocal chords so that it was going to be a little bit more bass not where does it know. We re not going to put you through the torture of having City or answering gardening questions while your voice is all over the shop so what you can do is you can go home you can rest and then come back in single like a canary in a couple of weeks time look get well soon thank you for popping in it was brief but it was beautiful so no gardening phone in this morning I would answer the questions myself but I would kill every gardening Greater Manchester and we don t want that but if you do have any garden questions you are welcome to call in as usual and what we ll do is we ll put them forward to next week a case we ll do gardening next week at 11 o clock we re just going to carry Sean out and I want to stretch or take him to his car hopefully the recovery in the short term limit is past 11 so we get you some of the best bits from b.b.c. Radio from this week really traumatic Coronation Street last night if you were watching that. And the characters should make it Ok to glean from Rochdale she joined back to join Chelsea rather on breakfast yesterday hear that shortly. treat you smart choice you make for. 60 minutes past 11 Simon said some of the best bits from b.b.c. Radio from this week of just looks nearly 6000000 people watching Coronation Street last night and I don t think there was a dry eye in the house Coronation Street actress Katie McLean joined Chelsea on breakfast this week talking about filming her character she needs final hours and saying that it was both emotionally exhausting boots totally worth while well last night in heartbreaking scenes she was so young I m sure you could die from cervical cancer in the soap will Chelsea ask Katie whether it was true that she had a say in how she left the programme here because initially I went to see who was the producer at the time just to discuss possible storylines you know I wasn t sure how I was feeling being in the saw because I ve not had a huge story I ll didn t know what what I was thinking really I was in limbo. And then she put it to me about this storyline where she gets cervical cancer while Spain pregnant so I jumped at the chance I said yeah that s brilliant last year and she said I m not sure on the ending yet and I just kind of said well off the top of my add I m more than happy if you want to pass away x. I think you ll make a huge impact and I think we need to do it so it s not just like fairytale land where she goes through all this and it s all Ok In the end because it always is not and. I don t want to bad mouth shows that do that because you know sometimes that does happen yeah I ve really wanted to show real life because people are dying young women are in from cancer young people young women are suffering with cancer whilst being pregnant whilst just having a child you know it s not the 1st thing you think of you know when you re having you having a baby you don t think oh actually what if this occurred yes but then having to be faced with that dreadful decision of do you tree itself or do you not to save the child and that s why of course Coronation Street as they always do with storylines like this like they did with no common story line they consulted people who d been through it one of which was paid to we heard on the show yesterday and his wife had been in the exact position I imagine in as an actress playing that role you must have felt a huge responsibility to listen to every word that he said to do it justice yeah I felt the pressure on the storyline because he can remember in someone else s life. Is just I think he s brilliant and he s a man as in is always been on hand if ever without any questions is give us as much it is as advice is what we ve won say it has been heavily involved in all the scripts so yeah he s just been fantastic throughout all of this little thing we could have done it without him but I always say to him you re. The critic I value them all you know yeah I much value his opinion of anyone else s because he s been through it and I wanted a genuine response you know wanted to be as real as possible so yeah let s just hope that that is what happened well that s what he said that s what I was watching on Wednesday I was sort of watching between my hands really because not only are we watching you saw slip away over the course of the wake but they ve put this twist in that Daniel s gone incased back than a year and so it made me feel uncomfortable but when I. Spoke to play about it he said softly like that does happen was that a bit over a curve ball that was thrown in that you had to deal with as well as the story yeah yeah because initially I thought all are drawn to thoughts going to take away from what s actually happening you know with the awareness of the harms for our children I think it s really cool that they ve shown that element into it because it does happen and people do need to think about. It to Daniel because of what is going through he s going to have them far he s only human you know he s got to think of his future with Burton he s got Think of a future mother you know I saw these are because you know want to want to admit that the having them thoughts and feelings you would like is like nature you gotta think about your family and how you can provide you know that kind of thing saw here I mean for me. Even dead. To me most is there. Because I think it s really good that we ve shown a lie on that as well that s the way they scan a story line and it covers so many issues what people affairs read so many credible reviews of Coronation Street last night and also how it affected people on the Twitter next if you re watching the Stand Up To Cancer programs from Channel 4 in particular Gogglebox that had a couple of films on people sadly who died from cancer but we heard their stories just coast you know it s just one of those big subjects isn t it that we would all like to try and combat but actually making awareness of it and maybe getting you know maybe getting an early diagnosis is the important thing which hopefully that story line has done Chelsea back with you Monday morning from 6 songs that you see ready Manchester b.b.c. Radio Manchester travel update great song just cleaned in a couple of minutes time 1st like Tuesday on the roads his month Thanks Phil I m sick southbound traffic easing. Dry conditions as we move towards the noon maybe a little bit of rain around but gradually clearing away at least something a bit dry maybe a bit of brightness as well but quite a bit of cloud around the rest day I think I will have temperatures up to about 9 still feeling pretty chilly. Conditions and with those clear spells we can expect to see temperatures down to 2 or 3 so quite a chilly feel once again on Sunday morning but. Story. Should see some sunny spells to both the morning and the temperatures maybe a degree or 2 higher so still feeling fairly cool as we go through Sunday and Monday as well but there s going to be a lot of sunshine as we start next week so it will be staying fairly settled with some clear spells as well as a similar story too for Choose day where there is a chance maybe of just seeing a bit of wet weather as we head through midweek and those temperatures getting up to about 11 or 12 degrees Celsius. You know that they are like you I. Was like great crew was I thought is not worthwhile Disney didn t need freezing selves the when he died he could bring himself back years later is that what you told me earlier. Oh I m going to be that . You ve had cryotherapy and this is because he is so new so achy Why is it like a cold therapy so. Radio much to every song on that program is played from the original vinyl now Barry rock band elbow have just released their 8 studio album it s called giants of all sizes They ve also announced an extensive tour across the u.k. From March and April of next year will on Thursday lead singer Guy Garvey popped in for a catch up with Mike Sweeney Mike began by asking him whether it was a burden or a blessing having such a big audience hit like one day like this. I couldn t describe it as a bird there was a period of time when hate. We d gone for. We told all the theatres and then it took off a bit more so we didn t know that it s all and that it took off a bit more around the Beijing Olympics. Because it was used all the time want a lot this. So then we went to arenas and then we didn t know the arena tour so. We couldn t get off the train for a bit and I ve been lying if I said it wasn t a problem around that time towards the end of the last 3 it s all I realise now we just needed a bit of a rest because our roads were spinning we thought we knew how big we were going to get and he suddenly got twice as big 3 times back so towards the end of that whole process yeah one day a lot this I was I was ready to stop singing it for a bit we had to break. And reassign it s a drag because we know inside out but once you ve got a room full of people going for it and really it doesn t feel like any of the song it feels like that belongs to the crowd and it s a ritual that happens at the end of our show you know that s that s the way I look at it but I know if. You do what I mean I would call the Apollo fairly intimate Yeah so is that a deliberate ploy because you could do the arena again but you don t you re not follow yet. Because. He does a sense of satisfaction from doing big rooms like the arenas and when we had that fresh anthem you know it was brilliant playing those great big rooms this is a more introspective record it hasn t got any big positive anthems on it because we were moved today. It s a lot darker and we want to yeah we want to be able to see the watch the rise and we want to people to feel a bit closer to how do you is that artist go on stage to write a. Song to complacence and still feel like that that you know what we re going to play these new songs because we believe in it and we ve grown to love them so here is Song number one which you may have either never heard before only because you ve only just got the album how do you feel inside as you re about to start well this is what s happening you see because we re doing a little the called amount stores so it s the same as the old installs he s literally touting the new rocket record around the country but instead of playing in the record shop people can buy the album on a ticket and can say Yeah so you play for 5 minutes we re doing the wrists we re doing 2 shows at the restaurant so it s a little strip back acoustic thing it s really nice but we play new material that people have only out for a few days so you re looking around for people who are singing the words and just wanted to at the moment I don t know how old. Do you George you. Say to lots age you know we get the real song number 2 and so number 6 is on Number 3 of No is that song number. Still quite 20 deal with us well it s just you just go off and ready and yeah and you ve got a mix it up a bit as well. And actually because of the way we write which is so often. You know with with most it s not I mean I m a monster of a race so I m not actually away long enough to missing you know I consider really that live in both cities still. But me pillows in London you know because of because right in separately. Some of the songs we ve never played in a room together and so we re about to go out again and one of them we come we ve tried really hard work is just realigns loads on the sonics of the record. Talking to Mike Sweeney this week in standing elbow coming to the mansion to Apollo on Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th of March next year get Mike s got the Swinging Sixties tomorrow at midday he s back with you on Monday morning from on It s 12 o clock on Saturday the 26th of October time for the latest b.b.c. Radio Manchester It s 8 minutes past 10 and our Morrisons Mike Sweeney the sworn in for you so much for being with us. Today it s a speak to our next guest she was the longest serving page 3 model get involved in a wry which ultimately saw the demise of page 3 at least in in some capacity we re going to get into that in a minute but she s also on screen in films including the British crime film top dog and your Highness you might have seen or and now she s working as a social media influencer and taking on I.V. s for the Coronation Street actor partner all of that Mel are so good to joins you know I read more in hi there how are you very well thanks be well thank you for coming by so we re going to talk about this morning about a sort of Korea shift in a career change and your for the time at page 3 you have your Manchester girl I am press which rests with all the Brits who want to bring Beri. Beri beri successful How did you get into pastry in the 1st place well enough ice to get bullied at school for being flat chested it was very random and when I left school my boyfriend tried cheered me up on a photo shoot one of those nice glam you up on and you had to start over some a picture stuff and got signed up it all happened really quick I got signed up with Samantha Bond who was Kate Price s agent at the time and then just my last is history Yeah and so when you did when you made your 1st page 3 appearance Yes when was that the day after I went down to meet Samantha Bond that quickly put me straight on yeah and then the week after I shoot my own calendar it was very bizarre I didn t even have time to comprehend it at the time and everyone was like well I was going on climate job. And then this went from there was a response then from people from friends and family my mom was over the movie she was like if you got it flaunt it my dad couldn t look at the paper for years he used to like just peel the corner back and have a look see if I was there and then he would like you and right. My boyfriend at the time left me he couldn t deal with their left you over that yeah he couldn t deal with the fact that all of his friends were seeing me topless in the paper really wow my friends have always been supportive they don t mind the info now and I thought that stigma when you longest How long is it you don t page 3 who 12 years until it starts but I m still on it now obviously covered up you write yeah OK so let s just kind of made a difference there so Page 3 traditionally has always been it was it was topless topless yet on page number 3 Yes All right. So there was a there was a sort of a rather a bit of a sea change wasn t there and it now the situation is that there s still a girl on page 3 but they are covered up yeah they have to wear what made that change I have no idea I think the whole everything just change in society now the thing you can you can t do and we just kind of got shoved out we didn t have any warning about it was just like one day right no more shoots from now on and luckily I would have always had a backup plan but a lot of the girls like just shattered their lives they had to sell their houses and they just can t afford to live anymore what happened when you were involved in the in the sort of in the route that happened around it not history involved in it but we were there s only 12 page 3 girls and there s only ever been 12 once one got dropped another one got routed so it was quite lucky to stay within the pastry group for that long but it just there was no really we just got told that that s it we can t do it anymore because the protests were in a sort of pressure a little bit and so did you we used to be supportive of it all presumably not if it was your job no I was not so I m still not supportive I think it s just ridiculous how they ve changed it you should be able to do what you want because your career it s your body I don t have any regrets of doing it it s just we ve been forced out of our own job if I was offered a career a job. And it meant that my girlfriend was going to leave me yeah so disagreeable was it yeah I was going to leave me out think twice yeah did you I did and he went and we talk about the original boyfriend yeah so he was fully supportive at 1st right OK he just didn t realize how big it was going to get and then he couldn t deal with it after that but he was they want to push me into each page for the original photo shoot which was in bikinis and topless. People have a page story is that you object to fight yeah it s objectifying women that it actually is to the detriment of the female cause essential Yeah right do you ever feel that you feel the way of our I never feel I ve never felt like that was my choice I I was intelligent at school I could have gone on to university I was great a student but it was my choice to take this career path the money was great the holidays were great I ve met some great people and I feel like why should I not be able to do I want so I don t feel objectified in any way it was my decision about when forced into it it wasn t a fallback or anything so it s not always the way for everybody. The girls I ve met Yeah I mean it s different on social media now everyone s doing it it s not a well paid job anymore but back in the day when I was making a lot of money it was it was a great choice and I have like I said I have no regrets but it just isn t because actually it s a really interesting point you met there Reem because you open Instagram and it s full of topless people men women you know but any kind of you know gender. And the stigma still lies with Page 3 Yeah if it is it was like if you do it in a newspaper it s a whole different ballgame Yeah you re open to the criticism if you do on Instagram it s the reference or the you could you on Instagram social media Twitter there s all kinds of crazy things on there but like I said I don t think people realize that but 1011 years ago Page 3 with the elite of the glamour girls and a lot of magazines and there was only a sad mount of us whereas now everyone s doing it and it s OK but the 12 that were doing it and are to do it anymore we. Strange your life become during that period as well I mean like part passes you know credibly writes meet in amazing people there I ve met some really nice people and like yeah some really fun people but it was a party but I ve always stayed down to earth so I ve never been into that whole champagne lifestyle on about London twice but my Coker raised in based on that just like coming home the home bed so it s come back go to the northern core of the cider so that s something that s what it was it s always it s always been a career as you know that s what it is worth a it s not a lifestyle it s just a career no no I m very good at betraying what I want people to say for my career do you feel in control of it Oh yeah completely in control of it yeah you walk out of making a bit of a conscious effort to get change into other stuff as well and yeah at the moment that driven bar I was longevity. I just want to show people there s more to me than what people think people just think obviously I m a topless model and that s all I ve done and I ve got nothing substantial behind me but actually I m quite intelligent I ve got other jobs I do other things and there s just more to me than that so I just want to show people that I am female friendly. And think so do you feel like you need to be appealing to females at this point is that was that career wise and where the money is I guess not I said I m not if they re following the money but my Instagram followers it s mainly male which obvious they could have the topless modeling and I just want to be more female friends I want to open doors to different things maybe when those men are interacting with you one on Instagram Yeah comments again oh God I want you I haven t made you so quite and some some are really nice but some are awful the amount of pictures I get sent is just coasting over people s party lines Yeah so there s a to think of the rack my brain thinking why would you want to open the door so that. Well ideally I wouldn t want to open the door to that but it s just part and parcel of the career I guess that I went down and they all just think I m some kind of piece of meat I guess that this we re all on useful for so that s why I want to show people that I m not more than that. This is tough it is quite tough to make the transition it s very difficult also sensitive to deal with that so that it s visitors to open the phone every day and have Mr it now it s just constant block like I say a lot of people our minds from really nice you get the odd creature coming through there as ever fact did you not weigh every kind of made you feel. You know I really know it honestly doesn t bother me because I just know it s part package everyone has downsides of the career and I guess that s one of my abs and now you talk about I.B.S. Talking about this there was what s this about so we got married last year and we ve been trying for a baby for the last 23 years and it s never happened so we went for tests to see what the problem was and it turns out I ve got the problem so they think they don t think that I ll be able to have children I ve got a really low account and we re just going to try the I V F route and see if hopefully that works a few percent chance of it working. Their Way Yeah and that s part of this. Plan to appeal to women a bit more again for about well that s not what I m doing obviously but I m sure a lot of women can understand what I m going through so you know that might be a way of opening it from a process I ve found dealing with the sort of medical element of that it s been awful the last few months have been awful obviously being told that you can t have children is like really got wrenching You can t even put into words but I sort of hope you don t need want to take so. Thanks crossed Yeah. For you because I write for you Do you think history will ever find its demise entirely Oh. I m still hoping it s going to come back I m hoping will go full circle eventually because everything s going bad at the minute you can t do anything you can t say anything even went to an office worker anymore without So I m hoping that it s gone too far and that it s going to go full circle again people are just going to let the pressure off people a bit OK Every 2nd some of the source here thank you for coming by very well it s a real pleasure and it s great to see where they do anything. Radio Manchester 25 golden hour in just a half an hour before tonight s a good one today in the meantime showy as if get this. So said the man doing the business right now. Said. This is the clue that he has given for yeah. It is see if we look at the something every seen and stood on and see it and I m going to say the sky is big growth and it s big that arguably say what Mr Sweeney says and some people. You know I don t know I mean look I m going to be let s be honest the sky and if you were to include the whole of space the whole of the known universe in sky which technically it is the doesn t get much bigger than that as everything. Got much bigger. It s not the right. Spec you have a nice day. We think it but I think even Mr Sweeney. Love it. It looks about the talk about somebody but on their back is that while they re on holiday. Pretty soon why would they not. Be able to come around and. Exactly. The contract. Is. To provide. Interest in that left field say well like it s a like it paste there yet it s just a private. Sale it s not thank you. Thank you. TIME You know the. People to run. a Born to Run. They re going to pedestrian ice Deansgate you re not going to be able to drive your car down Deansgate ever again. But isn t strictly true but when you say it and you hear it does it for you with joy or dread and think we re going to hear from somebody who has launched a petition and is actually getting quite a bit of support for this idea as well before 11 o clock this morning the petitions get to stop people driving down it very much in the wake of the extinction rebellion protests on the street over the weekend is certainly gathering momentum behind it joins you 6 let it all B.B.C. Radio much to. Travel without your life easier to think Cold War. Yeah. That was so high pitched dawgs. It might be from a weapon to be the M 6 southbound we ve got a broken down car that s where we go she s at the moment I was about $18.00 to $171.00 lane is closed that s a 4 lane stretch to coping OK with it while on the M 6 it s still on the northbound side it s worth mentioning it s a lengthy closure it s been there for a while $14.00 to $16.00 if you re heading through towards Lee s we ve got a closure of streets it s a shed load it looks like it s scrap metal from the photograph through scene so between high street and ACORN streets streets blocks right now and in Haywood Bumford road to Main and that s a meaning that the routes route is closed between the Melrose Avenue 10 and mine streets and not far from the brown cow pub and just to the monkey me and broken down bus lingering on the side towards So that s affecting traffic heading out but it s coping well with outlying closure anything that you do give us a cool it s a 100 to 100 still to 5. Chelsea at breakfast and then I decided that we d go into the center of our watch this once upon a time in Hollywood it just didn t go anywhere I didn t get it I m sorry to cast by the way is text in this morning they said just been to the cinema. In Hollywood he said it was brilliant it was the best film ever he recommended we go but you just put me right all. 3 hours I m never going to get back in my life back tomorrow morning from 6. Radio Manchester. Radio Manchester Of course the 11 mournin it s cheese day I m in for Mike Sweeney this morning so for the last 4 days have you been caught up on Deansgate the protesters that extinction rebellion have essentially closed off most of the road has been moved on I extended into yesterday. Manchester city center has been rerouted at a standstill in places people have been paved over people saying you know what it s the least disruption for a really good cause they occupied that in a bit a bit to be a bit to raise awareness for climate change but it s kind of call I ve got people thinking about the idea of actually pedestrian ising Deansgate now a petition has been launched by cycling and walking campaign group walk right in Manchester to do exactly that to permanently pedestrian eyes that area that fill you with dread would you think it s a great idea and the couple is from the Group and joins me now Nick good morning to this is a divisive one. It s kind of a bit 5050 people have been up for this I couldn t give you the numbers but we ve had overwhelming support for the idea so we actually launched it as one of our campaign goals last December and when we announced it at our meeting we basically had a standing ovation there is that much public support for basically making much of the city center as pleasant as possible for people you know because if you look at the way the city center said look you ve got St Peter s Square as pedestrian eyes Albert Square is going that way staying on the square you ve got Springfields on the list side and you ve got this huge traffic clogged gouge which is dings guy which severs the city center and we ve seen you know we actually negotiated with Manchester City Council on to have. A month because we wanted to trial this for one day we want to do the people s takeover of things gate and make the point that the world would and in fact the opposite would happen the businesses would increase the takings that people would enjoy the city a lot. So it s a movie would go on to get absolutely yeah unfortunately that kind of run run into into a dead end on the go because neither really wanted to win it and then extinction rebellion came out of nowhere and did it anyway. Well OK so the preview point for you know what we did hear a lot of people who were stuck in traffic around the area and I think that probably I think we have to carry with the fact that it was sort of a little bit unexpected for a lot of people yes however however traffic in the city is really bad Nicoletta if you try to get from one side of the city or any other at a even a not at a peak time and you still get stuck in traffic read your road is about a log in and that was a nightmare could you know off what is one of the main arteries through the city center sounds like a sure fire way of making out we re OK so what s interesting about the way you ve described overseas everything you re describing is that is from the perspective of people who drive Deansgate wasn t closed for 4 days it was only closed to people who wanted to drive through it it was open to people who wanted to walk through it I ve heard from a lot of people who actually found cycling into Manchester a lot easier because Deansgate is horrific to cycle along it was it was more pleasant for people in wheelchairs more people more pleasant people that kind of thing so it s only people who are driving carts the found inconvenient I don t know if you saw this analysis that was that was done last week by a town planner in Manchester who came up with this startling statistic that 60 percent of the surface area transport infrastructure in Manchester is given over to motor traffic whilst only 13 percent of trips per day made by car so if you look at it in that sense we were actually over over catering for the car this is the number of people that are actually coming by car is dwarfed by the people who don t more where ours but the amount of space that is given over to those people it is much greater so what we re what we re saying is this is this is kind of a recalibration that we re looking at it s like if. It cost take up so much space that the people who aren t in cars get squeezed to the side and that s that s the that s the kind of business as usual. Cuz you know is there a precedent for this in a major city could in off one of its main roads the how the fall has happened in a lot of cities I mean this is this is kind of a trend that s very prevalent in the 21st century is that is that cities across the world moving away from the car focused model you look at cities in Scandinavia where there are actually preventing cars coming into the city at all they re basically saying you can drive to the city limits and you get a bus or you walk or you hire a bike more or this kind of thing and it s definitely a trend OK so there is there is there is perhaps really just a very very briefly Nic travels around the train is Romney s it s a right old Yeah well they re trying to get any trauma anywhere or train anywhere these days do we need to get that infrastructure right 1st before we call off a road route Well what what we need to do we need to do all this stuff in parallel so you can already cycle into into the city center if you want to you re not you know there are you know it s a bike lanes here and there you can get the push you can get the tram you re right but I mean is driving any more pleasant than getting the tram at the moment so this is what we re saying we need to be start making this shift OK now altogether time friend. And it will happen when it will happen if you think it does raise an interesting question among just that council today are talking about doing a Car Free Day sometime soon there will be you know been inspired by the initial rebellion which really is probably bit of a slow burner is that you get in support do it a couple of days here and that kind of I mean we ve already trial if Manchester counts one born to a Car Free Day they can again see you know the good it s always going to sort of how much that s like a hammer overnight is it not and we don t have the accompanying group we like to we d like to see it happen in a way that you know there is less disruptive than what happened at the weekend there is more money we re not talking about complete traffic complete traffic restricted to revoke who could get down disable people who need to drive could get down 5 days just to through traffic that s not necessarily needed in the fifty s and thought fast an idea thank you so much for coming in and talking to us about it Nick Hubbell from the campaign group walk ride great to Manchester will keep down it will bring you up to date with any any developments on that petition Nick thanks very much thank you. It s. When somebody C.B.C. Radio Manchester Golden Hour is on the way 11 this morning before that day this morning Chelsea the same with talking about 1st days of school on the. When. You know when like you walk onto a plane with a child because people sit there and they look up in the. Garbage don t sit next to me please it is the most traumatic pressure when they start to sort of kick off a little there that s my husband to think people look at parents because I would have been one of those people that looked at people like me and said they re not just izing that child enough but anyway we got through it and had a lovely time and we had a lovely time and it s really lovely to back so thank you so much here until 6 o clock tonight but coming up in the next 5 minutes the topic is back and as ever I d like to get you involved I want to talk about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle I know it seems like old news now but it s the 1st chance I ve had to talk about it and we re going to talk about goal mouth and whether you would buy it if it s available at a really really cheap price we re going to be talking about that. Radio Manchester should say a big thank you as well to Natalie Eva who was in full back you want today and all this week because he s gone off to Dubai actually where I ve just come from we could have lived in the Apple So yes she s in a week for back ache so as I mentioned before Richard from Barry is our current champion on Chelsea s chase no be back to play at 345 but it is now time to launch today s qualifying question for Chelsea s Chai So when I did it like a week or 2 ago I asked a question and so many of you called in that we had an actual waiting list so I think we have worked our way steadily through all of those people so we ve not had many qualifying. Questions actually for Chelsea s chase so I m going to do want to die but I ve made it a bit tough I know I feel main cause about a week away so I m not sure if you get this or not but if you would like to take part in Chelsea s chase today at 345 and take on Richard in Bury and try and knock him off his perch because he s been on for such a long time then you will need to know the answer to this short question Ok Professor roles are made using what type of pain. A tough one isn t it and if we have any Bakers and the budding. Cooks so shy so anybody watching you know Great British Bake Off and you think yes I know the answer to that because I m so well Professor rolls I m made using what type of pastry like a bit of a tough or not so don t if you re going to get it right today 161228 double to double 5 is the phone number 016-1228 double to double 5 is the phone number if you would like to have a go take on Richard from Barry in Chelsea give us a call now plays 161228 double to double 5 will you get this really an opera fish or rolls made using what type of pastry give us a call now place the topic. Producer is guessing my you would be right yes he would be right for many many when he would not know the answer get in touch and let us know if you know right the 1st thing I want to chat about today is Harry and Mack and I know we saw things like old news now doesn t it but I still miss the announcement because they announced it on the day that I was flying away on holiday so it wasn t until I got there and you don t really go through like you social media and you know the telly on really or anything like that was also missed out on it and when I heard the news I thought that s nice. And that is almost the sort of where and it. I did a day or so later on my phone to one of the sort of newspaper apps that I have and I said I cannot leave it s like the top story the 2nd the 3rd the 4th or 5th the 6th and it went on. Background what how she d come from this to this and how we how we how we done there and the age of her and all of that I mean it went on and on and on them all and then the real piece de resistance was in this hotel when I was away and I was just speaking and they obviously heard that I was speaking. Like you know in the English accent and this lady came over to me she said I just want to wish you a huge congratulations on earth I thought I thought she meant about what none of us are innocent Thanks she said you know Harry and Meghan and couldn t because she was so taken aback she was wishing me congratulations just from being you know from the same country and then she proceeded to show me that she had this group with some girls that she knew friends of hers where they were sending photographs of the happy couple and what she was wearing and whether a shoes were high story or not and I could not believe it so I d like Applied to get your reaction to it really I know we ve probably talked about this on b.b.c. Radio Manchester have been away but like I say this is my 1st chance to chat to you about it I d like to know how much you care about the whole royal engagement or whether maybe you ve had any on usual reactions from people in other countries a little bit like I did there with that lady do you upset about say you dead excited about it or do you think it s a bit crazy about how obsessed we do get obviously we re all happy for him and it s a lovely story and we hope that you know we ll find these happy ever after and be really happy but yeah I d like to know really what you think what would your initial reaction you know do you change your life is it massively affected you in some good way or defined a bit bizarre how crazy and obsessed people are maybe we don t appreciate our role family the way that the way that we should the way that other people to I love to get your thoughts on it plays a 1612. 5 is the number text me if you can t talk. 813 double 3 just start your message with the word bank but please remember to put your name on it so I can give you a shout out and between now and quarter to is pretty much the only time that we have so it be lovely to talk to you and to welcome you back from holidays to have a chat with you so give us a call or 161228 double to double vive I m also going to ask you this question Would you ever buy out of date food from the supermarket. The reason why is because the supermarket chain co-op is the 1st big retailer to sell food that is past its best before date to cut down on food waste now we ve got to point out that there s a difference isn t the best before means that it can be eaten after that date but it s best before date a used by date would mean it has to be used by that and therefore it would be illegal for them to sell it for whatever money so this is these are the best before items that we re talking about now co-op it s not it s not all across here it s all the different part of the country. It s the Rarely but they have and $25.00 stores and you wonder whether it will catch on and they ve decided that the they re going to be able to sell tinned goods things like Banes and fruit as well as dried food such as past rice for Tempe. I d like to know if you would buy it really would you buy out of date food would this be something that you would like to see your local supermarket now as a guy called Roger Grosvenor and he is the joint chief executive for the co-op and he said that he feels that customers will really appreciate the opportunity to save money when they try all the items were flying off the shelves within about an hour of it being trialed they were gone everything was gone did go on to say it s not a money making exercise but you know they re trying to reduce food waste and keep food that is actually able to be eaten in the food chain and other. Cafe or a restaurant in Manchester that the do this they gather all this food and then they put it on the menu and you pay what you feel is necessary something like that but yeah the vast majority of customers said you know these items are absolutely fine to 8 and it s not the same but I know alday in addition. To charities and local organizations to get in touch with them because they always throw away their leftover food and they. For a while over Christmas don t they close on I think Christmas Eve on the 24th about 4 o clock and they don t reopen till about the 27th so if you are like a local organization or a local charity you can actually apply to al day rock up at 4 o clock on Christmas Eve and they ll be about 20 to 30 crates with the food they will give you rather than it going off I mean that is a no brainer Surely it s a brilliant idea but yes this is what we re chatting about on the topic trumps today you can get in touch if you think that that s a brilliant idea from Ali and the other supermarket should follow suit I d like to ask if you would buy out of date food or whether the absolutely repulses you when you just couldn t do it or just mentioned it in the office. I m shocking I really pushed to its limits you know if cheeses got mold and I got the cheese moldy but it s often a great the rest you know so that s just me is not the time I just don t like to waste food probably goes back to like when your grandparents used to say you know you know the restarting people out there you make sure you we all what s on your plate and all the rest of it so yes alights No please if you would be out of date food if I was opening this shop and I said right there we go it s all temp a is is the best before so it s still Ok would you buy it let me know please I want 612 to 8 double to double 5 and we re talking about your thoughts on Harry and Meghan and the engagement if you ve got any unusual reactions from people in other countries and really like to hear from you 016-1228 double to 5 Give me a call now place or text me 813 double 3 Start your message with the word Manc Bobby name on it and I ll give you a quick shout out it s just coming up to 20 past 3 now let s get the latest on the road. Radio Manchester is just coming up to 25 past 3 right in the middle of the topic talking about 2 different things 1st thing is you what was your sort of initial thoughts and reaction on the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and it sort of happened while I was flying away it s also missed it really is but my 1st chance to chat see you guys about it was of c really happy for them and it s not like it was a massive surprise because of the bookies stopped taking bets suddenly like a week or 2 before but I am amazed at how obsessed the country seems to come on there when I almost like a social media thing it was my 1st or 2nd story it just went on forever and then if you don t if you missed me talking about it earlier but a lady came up to me on holiday hearing my English accent to congratulate me just because I live near where they live amazing absolutely amazing and Bolton s just tax higher a and thanks for the message she said I m really happy for both of them but I do think it shows the state of the country because the media have really shoved it down off I says and completely ignored the fact that the government sneaked in the announcements the benefits of being frozen again for the needy and nothing has really been said about it I did see that and I know what you re talking about was something like 20 minutes after wasn t that they made that you know that s how p.r. Machines work when something big happens release the bad. It gets buried it gets hidden else exactly it is exactly what happened right so travers on the line now he s given a call hi trav. The thing. The lovely to travel Yeah thanks See I like that but I have to live by the Middletons been on and we were talking obviously as well about whether you would eat out of date food because 125 also co-op supermarkets across the northeast of England I m a psych assigned to sell that best be full food is just gone now. That s different to the use by which the not allowed to do the Middletons I actually regularly visit a discount food shop in Middleton it most of the dry and 10 food is past the best before date that you say is very cheap and it s perfectly fine because on site all I want to know about the upcoming roll wedding is when is the little one who felt like a conspiracy theory yes j.b. Barrington s been on our fun task stick. Poets you said food banks are overwhelmed we sleep on streets with cardboard bedding whilst the media feeds overjoyed announcements of a wedding Very true very very true and to me the pounds been on as well I had to make from apologies that I would definitely eat out of date food Chelsea fans and drive past the bows their 2015 on them is that a use them and I ve not been at all one single bit he said and just chatting about Meghan and Harry watching mean to be a which I must say I ve not time to do yet but I m going to just because a lot to be nosy she seemed very in charge says Jimmy the pound and I keep the thoughts and calls coming plays I want 61228 double to double 5 is the phone number I want to know what your thoughts were when Harry and Meghan got engaged and whether you ve had any unusual you know people some of the countries who are so obsessed getting in touch with you and saying anything and also I want to know if you would be one of these people that would go and buy tens of food that has just gone out of the best before date they when the trial this 10 pay people were queuing they were gone the shelves are empty within 10 minutes and it doesn t surprise me to be honest with you so let me know what you what you think really plays I want 61 to 2 a double to double 5 text me 813 double 3 Start your message with the word Manc. It s an interesting question some of you know admitting to it it s a real nice I think more people would do this and would go and buy these than the neurotically admitting it. There s no name on this tax do you Bob You know even if you send a text or you just walk in give you a shout out this is when I was young we used our noses to tell if it was edible no stupid date Spotland that s exactly what I do I sniff it and if it doesn t smell right doesn t seem right then that I ve been it but I do tend to push things I don t like wasted food I just don t and there is a difference isn t the people people change Best Before that means that you know that food is best to be for that day but you can still eat it. And then you ve got the other which is the actual use by date which says you know could be dangerous after that day and that s why that won t be sell but you know if the best before ones. Tastee dollar I know you. Like you know I think this is a good idea I think I mean this is like I say it s in the east of England at the moment if it came. Do it and I just think you know it s. Feels nice as well just to have that amount of you know that s been used for good purposes rather than going in the bin which seems so sinful. I mean so you say all these foods in waste and the going down that bow you know. To a lot of it is the way the children. And then you know and you know a year ago you didn t. Just got a message from Mike s He says it s doesn t suddenly go off at midnight on the date of the food common sense tells you when food is admirable and when used to just use a nose Absolutely that s what we ve all been saying as a thank you very much for all of the text this afternoon right it s just gone for a cot Let s get the latest on the roads now with Greg Edwards say good afternoon out on the May 21st of all there are some problems on the am of 56 now on the Manchester bound side between junction 7 at Boden and junction 6. Closed after an extend their traffic is looking slow as a result quite early on the m 62 already on the Manchester bound side approaching Junction 12 tackles and the m 6 is busy southbound through the road works between junction 19 and us food and 18 at home Schappell they hound for bypass looking very busy again today on the a 34 going through those roadworks just that the Stanley green roundabout that the canary lanes are in place also the Manchester Airport Link Road be a trouble 5 still closed because of a place in stone between the hand 1st bypass and Wilmslow road obviously very busy info in the area as a result of that one in that we re going on Central Parkway the traffic lights the green brush street junction the green off street drugs show I should say they re currently out of action so do take special care in the area if you can update us on any of them to call in 016-1228 double to double from still scenery drive you Radio Manchester so get a few more techs actually about food that goes out of date Keith in Middleton. Oh no it s hard Katy Middleton text before to say that he buys out of date food and then his other off Jackie Middleton said Chelsea Keith has a can of lager that s 15 years old at least he claims to be saving it for a special occasion disposed to get back to these are actually a point where it completely does go off Mr Grumpy has been on he said high fat say sorry Chelsea chief is I have passed on on on holiday in like 6 days I think it it is nice to have you back Christmas before last my local sign outside the door all fruit and vege for a some people were taking trolleys full I feel a bit guilty with 4 items 2 from a bunny into for the kids but yes we re talking about the fact that because they closed over Christmas so from 4 o clock on Christmas Eve Not that I think I m right insight into the 27th so much food goes in the bin so what they ve said is any local groups and charities if they want to apply for it you do have to apply you can t just rock up you can then turn up if they invite you at 4 o clock on Christmas Eve just load stuff brilliant idea makes me feel so much better that it s not going straight in the bin it s actually going to people that really need it so it just seems daft as in it s it to not. To not use that and then Keith the Middletons been back home been struggling because we we said it was like him and I need a file or something like that o.e. n. P h i l e a lover of war and it s the answer is Weiner just didn t quite know how to how to actually pronounce it Kate Middleton back on is the Chelsea lover of wine is also called the wine now Thank you Kay thank you for your input right now 20 past 4 today we ve got all it s going to be popping in talking telly of course on a Monday a brief look back at the weekend s Best bits and look forward to on this week so make sure you stay listening is always a brilliant listen at now Prince William Prince Harry they ve both done it j.k. Rowlings done a Frank Bruno Carrie Fisher The list goes on and on of the people in the spotlight who have talked publicly about their mental health now what is meant to do is to help break down the stigma that surrounds mental health and here in Greater Manchester it could be starting to have that effect which is going to be a great thing the c.s.l. For the university has received 14 applications for every one place on it s mental health nursing courses which is about 4 times more applications than 2 years ago so b.b.c. Radio Manchester reporter Kate West went down to a cafe at Salford universe day to meet some of those new students and the staff. Between American and he s here now yes but he s. Broken only so see team in the School of Health to society and the university so pretty. Soon you shouldn t see this very much because of the post shift image this may be presented around mental illness and its treatment and the way that people should be talking about it mental illness so Harry name and Will s recently been talking about what they went through after their mom came on and they need to turn a page that they need to tell work as really make people stop and think. To keep on trying to go through language hearing. Cyber talk of government isn t. Like crossings are a big thing I m an outsider because taking on more people more and more people started to realize how far is to your. Undergraduate course in crossing the street 24 I feel bad and if celebrities talk more about I want to reform. People in prison and rush to judgment about things or people live or even mental health issues that we ve done for. This important especially when people go for such hard times I mean. We talk more. Time My name is kindness and I m to ransack r.p.n. Council and I was so I might say you know the moment it s just speaking to people again and the viewpoints and understanding why they feel the way they feel as a people don t open up and Sally how they feel now what was Conference of them to make them the way they are then it might make it might cause over struggles in their lives for all the difficulties you could even mental health problems if they keep it all inside so it just helps people to really open up close and I may Shelley Allen I m the head of mental health in the scene here a selfie of this is that how encouraging Do you think is the patient s mental health system now I think is that these fantastic come in hopefully in a way this mental health this is a really rewarding Korea it can be challenging at times book is a real privilege actually to be able to be in that position and so be resourceful and useful to people at those times. From all points of view it s great that we re getting more up to conspire to consider really high caliber as well now important you think it is in terms of getting people into this profession that celebrities talk out about say that the media can and represent mental health in a positive way I think it s imperative you know that the media. Is a must have parts of play in high. People understand mental health and mental health issues and I m not going to be for good I m for Elachi they and so the fact that people and people who are kind of in the spotlight says Celebrity is a good in a way to talk about these issues in a much more open and transparent way and I was much more ordinary conversations to cite placing And and you know that can only be a good thing essentially from a mental health that is about how to demystify again and the experiences that actually all of us have and the more that we re able to openly talk about c.h. The the more useful we can be in and helpful to each other was thank you and that was. Down of a cafe in sulphide University to meet the new students and the staff and hopefully great news out 14 applications for everyone place on that mental health nursing course at full times the number more applications than just 2 years ago have a and. To . It was. Was. Was was was. Was. Was. Radio Manchester it s just coming up to $25.00 on the road for you in just a 2nd on the topic talking about whether you would be out of date food the phones on the techs have gone absolutely bonkers and that he s on the line now in Eccles hierarchy. It s also I am good thank you I m good I mean I ve been saying you know yes I would do this would you be out of date food no wellness planet. Well about food cost and $3.00 times tries for one from one of us at all and side trips us from Portland for 5 days on a trip just so we know where I would not be an hour a day through the increased chance to make a big. Friday because this then that sadly no wouldn t be probably food that would make you will because it s dried past Aronson s a Bain s you know in fruit and things like that because there s a difference isn t what you best be full days with means that they are best be full that diet but you can eat them after and then there s the use by well what you would have a light each in a fresh meat chicken and stuff like that which Yeah you know you ve dicing a little would you would you go fill out the dried pastoral would you just absolutely stay clear oh I want to cross Oh let s watch oh so often last fall and fall going to die but you know again. Everything cramps Ok. And it and I have to remind each of the well I know why I was not after I mean people can do that got away with it people can go by the nose I mean mom used to do exactly the same vote I do a bit mean I was yeah I will I will jump ship if the soldiers are the one inside as well what did me in was a Green let me so I m losing on must. Be in top of 5 and almost killed my most of what I had to say poisoning from the prone one so that was not pleasant. Post it stays with you for a long time well is the emotional scars that it leaves them afterwards because it s a bad thing to do that again it just like that dreadful place well I have my say muscles I love most of the most who are not 7 years. Wow. Continue with the count to 10 pay Bain s should have been a no weight loss when you say now if you. Vehicle id lovely start. By. The way to man just travel up to let s get the latest on the roads now 20 past for Greg without all the details still those problems in the hound Firth area the Manchester appalling road be a trouble folly for those closed off because of a place in stone between the hand 1st bypass and the Wilmslow road junction so very slow on the surrounding routes as a result on the hand for bypass the southbound side away from the m 60 looking very busy quite a queue towards the Stanley green roundabout there I mean while on the motorways having on the m 62 Manchester band the Junction 12. And still looking heavy on the m 6 southbound 900 notes fed and 18 are terms Chappell going through the road works in 56 and causing some problems for traffic on the Manchester bound side. Boden and junction 6 a tail lane one is closed and I actually there is quite a queue building up now is so back to about junction 7 Tatton if you can update us on any of that do call in 0161228 The will to double find soloing City and United in the Champions League b.b.c. Radio Manchester sport the Champions League group stage reaches its conclusion this week only be home defeat can deny Manchester United a place in the last 16 for the 1st time since 24th seed I m Bill Rice and I ll be alongside former Red striker Danny Weber at Old Trafford to bring you all the build up and for much commentary of united against c.s.k. a Moscow Manchester City already into the knockout stages group winners on Wednesday night they round off their group campaign with a game away should start on yes Andy Buckley and former City player Fred there will be keeping a keen eye on the game and will keep you up to date with all the action at my. The Champions League. Tomorrow evening from 7 on b.b.c. Radio Manchester 95 point one f.m. Yes Make sure you are listening rival is just gone 20 past 4 so Monday we talked telly of the money and Alex from the is here with me now hello. Yeah I was starting to panic as I thought we always talk about brief look back at the weekend s telly and I didn t London till just before 8 o clock last night we hope for today at home and I thought she s got an action they call up to get it. I realise that the order you buy I don t see it is spoiler it was did that did the dead what did you think I mean we should say if you haven t watched it all right Dana oh yeah. She s down from little minute to. Do things to the window well I ve not really watched this series of the x. Factor so I was playing a bit of catch Ok and I didn t know who Grace who but Ben was yeah you know the northern Adele because I loved her I saw her auditioned and every network was talking about it and I was really pleased with that and I did like rock so as well I thought they were bit different if I think they re really talented is the right all their own stuff you don t same with her as well very well is that actually saw Macaulay said this you ve changed it because not only do you have to come on now and be an entertainer be a great singer but now look at these people who are playing their own instruments you know writing their own songs songs that would be probably really a couple of them and I actually thought they were stopped and then they said they were original I was I ll probably yeah and she cause quite quickly you know he they really get into I did I really enjoyed it and I thought. It s kind of grown up a bit the x. Factor because it didn t have like the novelty side apart from Louis doing every cliché and other songs. That you didn t have this whole sort of let s bring back the people who were really bad and let s do the little compilation test and there was none of that it was a really good line up as far as I mean I don t know music afficionado but it was a really good lineup as far as the acts and the guest. I really don t. I mean I well I think Sam and Callen already said that and if we look back actually the winners of the x. Factor I think it s the result that done better look at one day. Yeah and. Jennifer last record Ferguson all of them none of them won it don t really really well so I actually quite enjoy it did go on a bit though I mean it was all No 2 nights and they could have really compacted it a bit more I have an issue with the final being on a Sunday because kids watch it yeah and there was a little clip last night and it was her nieces and nephews I think Grace s videos and she said we love watching you on the telly because we get to stay up late but not honestly. As they probably guessed it. My mum was a bit upset Roxy one. After she like right yes she rang me to say she was a bit disappointed in that but I said both they were bound to win that s really why because young girls vote. For the boy and so you ve got all the boys and you ve got that really attractive looking woman the curly air and yeah there s one for everybody isn t just brilliant you know we ve got a little clip on here and. We were. Supposed to. Be. You. See was around like to see go back to you know. It was it was that it kind of grown up and I think it s a shame actually because 7 years ago Matt Cardle won and they had like 19000000 viewers something like that they were expecting last night for 5 it was a big difference to do it like you know it s one of those things that people don t always watch it but then if it s not there. I think we miss that yes to those yes yes and I think a lot more people now watch on you know on like afterwards like and I wonder whether those moments that I was feeling they do want because they often don t catch up till i think about it but I thought of people like if people recall I say tape it and that s not tape it was recorded to defeat the d.v.d. . Always through the ads Yes that s the thing this so many in this thing is the x. Factor in these competitions and then they start shooting which is brilliant but you know. It doesn t if you just shortened it to the actual songs you know it s like it would take about 20 minutes Yeah exactly I don t know I actually said a little bit. Well like I think I m the whole we feel very shortly and it was funny actually because the guy from Paris Kevin he was love he was a this was in the South you know he said he finalist and he did his Jew where with Tokyo my is was all the way through when he s had the Britain s Got Talent Got Talent whenever. He was great on 18 feet tall as he really felt he was brilliant Kevin he was absolutely fast I thought he was really classy I think he will go on to do very well get down to those last few You re always go on to do well and you will yes he s good so you have Britain s Got Talent yes on to the next one film to the next on the right so if you don t like the x. Factor maybe a lot robots yet. This is a really different kind of show can we live with robots which is on channel 4 and it s not quite what it sounds like actually it s part of Channel 4 series all about special intelligence has been lots of programs on and anybody who watched Gogglebox on Friday night well that was a long time I ve felt for a film that. I say. I always love watching go go bars because the I didn t see that . And that was one of the one of the episodes that they were watching which was in the series and it was about this this man who had. I don t know if he was having a relationship but he certainly had a friendship with a. With a doll and he wanted it to be replaced but i Robot That was a big say but this program can we live with robots was choreographer who did the beautiful piece in the 2012 Olympics you know when they did the dance that was related after the 77. If he s a fantastic choreographer and he wanted to understand how robots play a part in our lives and come at it from a car every point of view so the movement of them and all relationship with them and how it works so is a little bit of him put it down piece together and a bit and going and seeing how robots affect our lives started off in a factory in Oxford a mini factory where we ve got a few robots making components then he goes over to Japan and well it s a different thing cos it s amazing and then how they have domestic a lot of it was in Japan domestic robots and security guard robots and all these relationships with these different robots and how our relationships are with them and how they build movement into robots to make them more like human and less threatening and this reminds me a bit of that and I can t tell you the name of it because I haven t seen the whole film but there s a film with Robin Williams where he s a rose by by said something like But he yes and he thinks that he goes in search of weather all the robots feel like a does yes it s a great film. Yeah and that would come just reminded me of how you were told and then there was the very last bit there was a guy who an inventor in Japan who had created his own double and it was this robot I what was interesting was that the robot was it looked just like him and it seemed like and it made like a very it was behind a kitten hind and when you move the Can You had all these different laptops and monitors and cameras and everything so much work to take to make it happen. So it was only in stands that I was on the south is on all 4 so you can watch on all 4 but yeah really good and if you like a bit of modern dance the bit that he did at the end which was it was beautiful. Related to the really odd things to put together but kind of yeah brilliant Ok well kept. We just got enough time for this one the sound of this how to spend well at Christmas because you know I want tight but I don t like to look after the pennies Well you want to watch this actually it s on this was on i.t.v. On Sunday evening and it s 1st part of a 3 parter but this was all about toys and Phillip Schofield getting the best deals also you want to watch there yes I think it ll be out there now that yeah it was a repeat actually because the 2nd one s on Tuesday night which is looking at gifts but this was really good because all the different. Robots and this actually all the different toys that are going to be called popular has got a mention this they did a test with 5 pairs of 36 year old twins and they gave them about 10 different toys and which one they would like the most and the box they did 5th place came the car but Mommy I ve just been a hours on a plane. But love a ballad is the bit I don t it s a dull love about lack of quiet life like dull and that s that was a big seller last year big seller this year so right about I might be catching up on that and watching as well at Christmas right well Alex is not going anywhere because we ve got some fantastic programs for the rest of the week coming up we re going to be talking about we re also talking about sort of Holby City the real Marigold on Torah judge Rinder what a mixture of. Full 31 let s get the latest news headlines now with Liam marks the 14 year old who died on the m 67 has been described as a bright and likeable young man and a talented footballer Sam Barkley was hit by a car during Friday night s rush hour and found with unsurvivable injuries on the hard shoulder an inquest has found a woman from sale died on honeymoon in Thailand when a speedboat trip went ahead despite monsoon morning s hearing at South Manchester Coroner s Court caught the 2 victims 28 year old moniker Connor and the 46 year man from Leicestershire had been among 30. Stadium and believes Chris chosen the right man for the Milliken is a nice guy but he s a 1st class Cauchon annoying no in nose Chris look at what with him pressed and doing that when the us 1st started out in court but he will be a great help to Chris and help the both do well and I m sure England bowler Jimmy Anderson believes they ve given themselves an outside chance of levelling the ashes and since the 2 wickets help reduce Australia to 53 for 4 in a 2nd innings in Adelaide the home side still however have a commanding lead of 268 runs with 2 days left to play I think an outside chance yet we obviously got a lot of work through tomorrow. I only buy it Christmas and sometimes I have all the good intentions of of circling them and then I never get round to actually going to either but I always think if anyone comes in it just looks good on the top I don t it s just that yeah I should need it is Christmas Day Yeah we re always a light so busy Chris made it easy going out of his to really get round to watching it but we ve got a quieter one this year so I m determined to get around to watching it and I notice that what s the big one going to be showing is the last Jurassic World Yeah. The advertised with the in-between that it s got adults have the big Christmas baby that was me and it s quite a go because I only watch dross that park about 3 months ago. Only about 20 years. The radio man just travel well we ve got some major problems on the roads has been pretty much all afternoon hasn t it Greg yes 56 1st of all Chelsea big queues I m afraid for traffic heading in towards the am 60. 3 to drink 6. Is closed after an accident queues are back to about junction 9 now the m 6 almost and also fainting traffic on Princess Parkway as well meanwhile a slightly better news in the hand for the area the Manchester Airport Link trouble 5 reopened now after some problems there between them so I wrote and the 1st bypass still very busy in the area though and quite frank you on hand for the bypass itself on the southbound side towards the Stanley Green Road about roundabouts partly because of the ongoing roadworks mean in the area still narrow lanes in place traffic on the m 6 remains heavy on the southbound side through the road 19 in those 1st and 18 a tomes chapel not so bad for northbound traffic though for the time being the m.c.c. Busy as usual particularly having on the anticlockwise side from Junction 15 Swinton around 12 tackles kind of data to call in 016-1228. The trouble with this time of year is we re all so dreadfully busy what with the shop in the. Moment. So why not kick off your shoes ignore what s just around the corner and let your brain drain. Phoning is just the thing it s got to be you Miss Fox fiction and even help from time to time but before you ask no you can t help with the robberies you do music makes the late night phone tonight from town b.b.c. Radio Manchester as it will be about with the tonight at 10 Chelsea here with you back from holidays. With you until 6 o clock tonight and then 6 and we re halfway through our telly review with Alex Grundy already had a bit look back at what s happened over the weekend and now a bit of a look ahead to what s on this week I don t know anything about this 1st one except for the fact that it s the real Marigold on toll now the real Marigold Hotel was a film Yeah they did the Marigold hospital drama Yes Yeah no quiet you know with the 1st. Real Marigold Hotel there was there was the film which was. Yeah yeah the there was a spinoff t.v. Show where it s a documentary and it s a group of older people shall we say and they went to India to kind of experience the real experience like the silly one of them yes yes yes or is it there that s right well this what they ve done is this is a brand new series it s on tonight b.b.c. Wanted 9 o clock the oldies are back. The 1st of 4 and they are going on tours they re actually going to China 1st we ve got Bobby George you know the darts player Miriam Margolyes who is just brilliant in anything that rock. When sleep and Rosemary. And they re off to China and I m really going to experience what it s like to be older in China and maybe consider retirement. And they go to a panda factory which factory sorry sanctuary What do they do with the fire trail. And Miriam uglies and Rosemary shaker sort of come to not to blows but they have a little bit of fire refinery but yeah no we ve got a clip I m not sure what the clips are safe it s got pounders and it. Is Worse new careers invented 150 years ago. Then this. Club secretary has agreed to show them where it all began thank you very. You look like a sixty s pop star the way it was dressed you know we have is a leather East with a big jacket on the Pole and back a real gentleman it was a British army officer stationed here called Neville Chamberlain no relation who is credited with coming up with the game and giving it the name snooper this is a table on which so never Chamberlain invented the game and laid down the final rules I mean you look spanking it is being well maintained I mean that s the most important thing of all these old things you know you put them in danger if they are interested in these programs they are yeah I don t like that the likes of the seen the celebrities in the different yes actually I was there I was not one that you recommended where they all ate. The going. For me I loved and it was yeah it s just sort of different involved and it s a it is like a travelogue but it s also talking about retirement and issues like that you re a bit of everything and yeah that it will be a good one so supposed to for next week they re in Cuba and they have a different selection of like Dennis Taylor was on that clip so he ll be in some of them as well so different different people she had golden age. And I don t know I will also not be a bit of a class with I m a celebrity you enjoy but I am a bit behind I didn t see last nights and so I was talking about the work and I don t tell me you know. I have got so far behind I ve almost missed it now you know me right now next Ross Noble he s a sunny guy I love Ross Noble very very funny sort of Jordy slightly off the wall comedian like crazy yeah this is a brand new series this is on Thursday night on day you and again it s a documentary of sorts it s the 1st of 3 now what he s actually doing it s Ross Noble off road and he s done a bit of. Motorbiking cycling over the years but this is taking on the Scottish 6 day trial and I didn t know what this was but it s actually an insurance. Trek and it s 100 miles a day on a motorbike course over tough terrain where you stand up this sounds horrendous. And a spin class. Is to take on this challenge but he s taking it very seriously building. An assault course of his back garden I don t know how because by gardeners but he s been working with a coach because he s been on tour and he s really worked really hard and you ll like this because I know you re a big fan of rocky Yeah and in preparation for his training he s put together a few training montage is it really a very rocky style but it ll be good because his spin on the world is so off the wall but he s doing something that just sounds so hard and horrendous So it s that meeting of those 2 This is a real name for putting out something why doing it. So well be a good one Thursday night 8 o clock and the 1st of 3. And we ve got a clip of this yes we got hold of going to place 1st because we kind of all know what hold the city is having some virus went down about a few expensive toys and a flashy title. Of it. Right and I go so far as to say for some reason you re terrified. To go to. Work. Truck. Don t because I said I don t. Want to see you finish this is going to. Start hot. Dry air it doesn t explain the it forever as it has I mean it s the spin off from. What you just been going on for is this really drum of the week I think there s 2 parts his 1st one on Tuesday 8 o clock on b.b.c. One on it s own again on Thursday the 2nd part and we ve got a new arrival and you actually had a very briefly that poll McGann always been a Dr Who so I was going to be sued yes of those alone you know yeah this is a lot of the more than the Nolan Sisters of what we re going to see used to be in the upper hand. The guy still wasn t loaded on the block I mean it s all about that s all gold or something like Oh I know I used to look for a great program and that had Kelly Bryant who ended up being and she s a nice young girl in that yes yes he plays a surgeon consultant neurosurgeon and this is leading up to him operating on one of the all the well loved characters not to say who it is you know don t want to give anything away but it s going to it s good what because it s too Paul it s like a bit of a one off thing that s worth watching so good drama so even if you don t watch whole bit I must admit I dip in and out of it and I watch a bit I know Joe who s in Strictly. But it s a good one you know just to watch a couple of. Yeah definitely want to have to go yeah brilliant so that s Tuesday and Thursday and say yeah I m off to squeeze these in because you know I know summer is written does crown Co mean he s been a huge success in the day and now he s my making Friday Friday night 8 o clock do you remember watching crown Cole Yeah we re all schools yes this is an open day bought so judgement is going to guide us through some. Of. This is going to be fabulous Well it s not going to sell people think because he s been joking looking for your job which probably you know is yeah yeah really is so this is be a good one that. First 1st part of Friday 2nd part following week tending to family law programs now that the shorter runs because of Christmas and all the new seasons but they re looking into the case of James Byron he s accused of killing his wife and it s the process. 1st this week I like things I love crown Yeah I m interested to see him. How do. I love this comes around every single year Coasties handmade Christmas Kirstie Allsopp this is one half of Kirstie infill from location location location I love how Paul she is I love how she was jackets with ridiculously large but yes I love how she has time to make things so I don t know kind of the time she is like and she s like a walking Hobbycraft and then she really. Is quite funny this is actually on the same time as whole bay so you might want to recall there s a watch on channel tape it. Will be on all 4 this is Channel 4 Tuesday night because she also said this is a bit of escapism and it s all crafting get crafted ready for Christmas so she actually going around the country meeting the most talented crafters and getting the good value for Christmas you know she learned how to do things as. Gods and a house just looks amazing I haven t got the patience I had on the honest with you that s why God invented your list I have got the patients but you don t just say you ll build a dinner by the end of it and I m going for all of. The documents but it ll be good and you know it s starting to get into the Christmas spirit now so we re starting to see more and more programs as if you this week the again into Christmas and this will be a good one but in genteel escapism of life just before we go 20 feet from yes now I m cheating a bit here because this is actually a film and I m stepping on Tom s toes a little bit but I really just want to sign I really want to mention this is on film for tonight at $1115.00 film for doing a run of documentaries 20 Feet From Stardom it s an Oscar winning documentary and it s all about backing singers and if you think about how hard it must have been to be a very very very talented singer who gets no recognition but just so much. It s inspirational true story and I have seen this and I saw it when it came out I absolutely loved it Darlene Love is one of the main people in it and he did a great song in Home Alone home alone to Darlene Love oh yeah. You know I m trying to think you have to sing it to me from my head but I have no telling what he she has done some solo stuff but she is prolific back in singing from the sixty s so everyone from the Beach Boys Tom Jones. And it s really telling how a lot of the her on a lot of her colleagues you know really sort of didn t make it massively on the big time no no no I m going to see if I can find a lot of the big sort of stalls and how to sign back in yes I mean Michael Jackson Yeah the whole of this is a lot of that really and so it s great you see a lot of concert footage and talk to veterans of being that 20 Feet From Stardom whether you could really pick up a title for something. So as I said it s on tonight the whole so. You know this is me holding my phone this is not my professional. She was and this I mean this is it when she s going. To the speech. It s like music on the radio when you can hold the phone to a microphone. But obviously it is in my home until I do remember it now yes so she yes she s and she s one of those names actually but she could have been any biggest I should ve been away you know just as a just when it was it was like you knew but you know it was you know you know quite that 20 Feet From Stardom so film for tonight 1115 it s a bit late. Pay I ll be about it now I m not saying Ok. Lovely to see you all like you so much and see you next Monday. You know b.b.c. Or. A deal much. Now is just coming up to you $5.00 to $5.00 in the pay word at $540.00 Kevin Fitzpatrick is going to be here we re going to talk about Rex a big big day on the back seat from it and if you ve noticed 7 months of negotiations so far the u.k. And the e.u. Appears set to announce that enough progress has finally been made to move that talks on to the issue of trade and how to avoid a hard bordering island has been a sticking point since the initial agreements were reached over citizens rights in the so-called divorce Bill as well but it s been widely reported that to Reason Why has been holding meetings with a u. Figures in Brussels this afternoon may have actually agreed to a concession to end the deadlock Well political reporter Georgie Russell joins us now from Westminster she s on the line Georgy what we expect in this concession to be than where you are right Chelsea and has been widely reported all morning and over lunch time that a deal did appear to be on the table after 7 months of negotiation but it didn t happen to reason may emerge from her crunch lunch with a load younker and both of them said actually further negotiation and consultation is necessary let me just bring you up to date the thorny issue is the border in Ireland between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland is going to remain in the e.u. Which means it has a veto it can stop the progression of talks if necessary so it seems that the u.k. Was going to have to come up with something to keep on and happy if an only for now just to get on to the issue of trade which everybody wants to do and it seems that that concession was going to be allowing the Northern Ireland to stay in the single market not by name necessarily but for regulations over that border to remain the same now during that lunch the day u.p.d. Came before t.v. Cameras Ali and forced to. Just make it clear just to remind us all that they want to come out of the e.u. On the same terms as the rest of the u.k. And underlying that is the knowledge that the attendee u.p.s. Are propping up to resume a minority government here in Westminster how much of an influence that had we don t know but at the same time Downing Street was releasing a statement saying be cautious don t jump to any conclusions there are a lot of moving pieces still in play and then. These 2 important figures in these negotiations to resume manager came out of their lunch and said no deal yet but on a positive note they both agree that they re desperate to come to an agreement over the nature of the Irish border before the 14th of December when the 27 leaders come together to vote through a deal if there is a deal on the table Georgie Russell from Westminster thank you very much for joining us and we re going to be talking a bit more about Bracks it with Kevin Fitzpatrick in the at $540.00 tonight I want to know georgia makes it sound so easy though because she understands it but it is a complicated situation I ve got a few questions for Kevin who s going to answer them all for us make it seem a bit simpler Joni Mitchell Now The. Job Mitchell and Big Yellow Taxi on b.b.c. Radio Manchester thanks very much to the always enjoy t.v. Revue she ll be back every Monday 20 past full. Hey we re going to be chatting at about the same time. 5 point one and. I don t.

Invented it in hardware King and co-operative then say it kind of makes me feel proud of Manchester when I see them want to see. Children with autism are being let down by the education system the all party parliamentary group for autism says 7070 percent of children with the condition are waiting too long for the support they need the calling of the government to commit to a national strategy that leaves little boy Holly goes to a specialist school about just as she says he s doing well now but it s a struggle to get in there I don t think many people understand unless you are a parent of a child with special educational needs how much of a battle it actually is to get the appropriate support for the child it is a constant battle you have to be patient you met with the bottle all the time to get that support it s such a shame for a lot of parents to feel let down by the Greater Manchester is whether they are staying with Di and cold into the evening with 3 showers over Rochdale and Oldham will see a widespread Frost quite early in the night and temperatures are going to drop to minus 2 Celsius. D.c.u. Radioman just travel update those who have made some inroads with Greg Edwards have seen the 1st of all the traffic is looking very heavy on the m 16 on the clockwise side from junction into Carrington around to 12. And then $56.00 inbound already building up now for injunction 5 at the mine Chester airport spur 3 towards the am 60 out on the Am 6 looking quite heavy on the northbound scientist around junction 20. M. Moving quite well now on the South Bank carriageway through the roadworks between junction 19 to notes for the 18 homes chapel if you going over the penance on the word had passes you get over on to the South Yorkshire side there s a broken down lorry in the area partially blocking the road causing some fairly big queues in the area and in altering them in the broad teeth or. The a 56 Manchester road looking very slow on the Manchester band side because our very to the Richards way junction Chaffee securing right back to your woodlands road and his fate in traffic on some of the surrounding rate says well if you can update us on any of that do you call in 0161228 double to double 5. B.b.c. Radio Majesty. 5 pounds for it is me well bachelor in the chair for today and tomorrow and what day is it yet Friday as well I m in for Chelsea this week until 6 o clock having some fun at the 1st hour just flies by on the show and we ve got a packed 2nd argument for you as well including film reviews with Tom Percival from United and also some more on that item you I just heard on the news there about the the baby sculptures winging their way to Manchester next summer so looking forward to that also here s some more about the funeral and the wake of the homeless man from Delhi which was crowd funded by well wishers if you like people who didn t want to see him slip away unnoticed that s all still to come Plus of course all the news the S pore the weather the traffic Why would you go anywhere else especially when we have music like this. December $963.00 Oh what a night we were talking earlier about summer of $69.00 what way that s even older Just imagine if we don t really know what happened on that night it sounds like it went very well though and if a child had big unsaved on it they d be about 55 by now. About just right we felt as well bought in for Chelsea on drive here with you until 6 o clock tonight so let s take another story out of this coming out a giant colony of 80 super sized piece sculptures will be winging its way to Manchester in the summer of 2018 for one of the biggest public art exhibitions the city has ever seen the Manchester based artist Jodie Silverman has put the finishing touches on to the 1st sculpture and she s been describing force it s a shiny new school and the Manchester Baby and the weight as painted after try to kind of make it look really realistic say f. Painted all it s kind of like lots of layers of paint make it really flat and after lots of detail into the wings to try and make it look as kind of realistic as possible and along the base this kind of a cold honey came design I decided to team and the mantis to be and just be kids it s such an amazing symbol of Manchester and and it harks back to Manchester as industry parrots a chain. I think it s really come to mean such a lot to people and and it speaks of you know the spirit of resiliency in Manchester people coming together where you came to get there if that kind of industriousness and surprise in Manchester and all the great things that have grown out of this wonderful sustain a say on it debates kind of encompassed on the fact I am absolutely over the means be asked Payne if as am and I can see the people of Manchester really embracing race trail and really getting into the spirit there and I think it s really going to capture people s imaginations Wilkinson is the co-founder of wild oats that s the project commissioning the sculptures she s explained how the 9 week trial will look when it comes to the city next year there s a supersized 3 D.B. s inspired by the Manchester Baby The Today man just a so we brought it s life as a super size a very big baby alongside us but hoping that as many schools across Manchester will get involved and that we will they will use a medium sized baby which is small the size a Super Size want to do education program with that so the baby not only symbolizes you know a lot to do with Manchester but also in terms of learning for children and young people it s all around the bend and how important the bees are and in in the world and this trial is all about people from Manchester Manchester communities becoming interested in their own it s about going to places that they ve yet to discover or to rediscover things that have happened regeneration of Manchester so much is happening so we d like to take people into galleries into shopping centers into parks public spaces there will hopefully be a bay on every street corner has amazing isn t there I love that phrase tourists in their own town because we forget that we when we live the. Amazing history and heritage right door steps that we just walked past every day because we re busy and we re going to work or we re going to pick the kids from school or whatever and anything that makes us actually look around and stop and think is alright in my book counselor to Rahman s on the line he would launch this off their helicopter Hello you saw that they didn t you how was it looking was impressive always very impressive. Sort of the while it was being designed and it s really impressive I think the people of Manchester are going to really want to and there s going to be 80 of them on the idea of a trial and they re gonna be dotted around the place on the well to some of the previous speakers spoken of I look we ve got a fantastic rich cultural heritage here in Manchester and there are some landmarks and cultural institutions and parks and open spaces that people haven t discovered yet having these bees place to teach a clear around the city in the city center in our neighborhood will make give it give precedence of Manchester and from the on towards from outside and elsewhere to come into city rediscover the city experience the rich cultural heritage that we ve got here and really gain involved in something creative and fun so it sounds like it starts with the babies and then obviously you would hope that would lead to a curiosity about all the stuff that s around them absolutely we ve got you know I think we ve got one of the best council offices in the country and we have a great uptake of it not as much as we d like it to be had in this project gives as an opportunity to start engaging people that are not necessarily in volved or engaging in the us and in the cultural landscape of the city this is a fun way of getting people involved and really engaging them in their communities in the neighborhoods and make it enabling them to participate and help in designing some of these businesses well and heard about the school program that s going to be great engaging and a large number of children young people in the schools where children young people love the opportunity to design the. Vs to start learning about the environment about culture about heritage Yeah because that s the point isn t it and not going to be identical each one is going to be unique each one will I guess people can draw in all sorts of ideas for how they re going to design that particular baby Absolutely I think is really exciting I think it gives an opportunity for every resident children and young people to really get stuck in and be really creative and create something that s really ambitious and something that will. Be a new another hasn t come from mine just innovation and creativity have you decided yet whether we re all going to go how does that get sorted out I think that will be a democratic process with all the participants we know there are significant landmarks within the city where we d like them to go to but of course we want and residents the artists the children young people to kind of inform where that where they eventually end up yet really interesting how that turned out of course it s a night of the wheel of Manchester phoned How s that going. But the end of the betrayal will be an auction where all of the B. s that were placed around the city will be auctioned off and we hope to raise money for the loadmaster charity and I chatted to works all year round supporting really innovative and creative projects right across the city and people are going to bid for these things I guess they are going to be taken to people s hearts people are going to have their favorites they going to want them in their businesses and their you know their gardens and all sorts of places and hopefully that could be a real a great way to raise cash Well we ve just had news of it today and already have had a number of people who have contacted me who want to in their neighborhoods want to in their localities in their libraries and have parks and I m so once people see that this is an amazing. Structure I want to see it the more and more people want to have these but I guess their option would be. Success. Might say next year. Thanks for joining us thank you all the best yet summer I say in summer of next year. For a lot. Of us. It s George Michael I m careless whisper on b.b.c. Radio Manchester with me will drive with you until 6 o clock. Travel. On the roads with Greg. Looking very slow now on the m 602 heading out of Manchester from. Road 3 to junction one tackles on the m 60 clockwise flow from Junction 8 now it can turn around Junction 1256 going in going down the. Right way through to the m 60 rounds on the m 6 it s quite well really for this time of day northbound 20 now and Lem off the My delays to the north of the city center in the high Broughton area looking very slow on left the road on the side heading away from Manchester towards heat and park it looks to be down to volume of traffic but even a different they do give us a call. Towards Manchester on the a 50. 6 Manchester road to read to us from the way the George Richards way junction closing queues bank to The Woodlands road junction and the traffic on some of the surrounding routes as well in the lim area some flooding is affecting Warrington lane in front it s been closed off between Burford lane and the road junction just need to the. Traffic having to find an alternative reach there on the trams just minor delays on the Ackles and east did sprit lines because of earlier signalling problems and delays on the map at the Bury line minor delays now following an earlier incident if you can updated 161228 the bill to double 5 b.b.c. Radio Manchester Sports Ground 0 where result of this uprising is that even the word seems a rise in the middle of monsters and the mine is maybe just the fall of the ballroom would be relieved to. Anything is possible will that be seen this will stop the ball the price he was huge if you lose. This pressure these days the f.a. Called a.f.c. Filed a Wigan Athletic Friday evening from stand on b.b.c. Radio Manchester 95 point one and. It is indeed b.b.c. Radio Manchester with me will Batchelor in the chair and you will know from recent Chelsea show that around this time on a Wednesday we always speak to Tom Percival from you know our Tom Oh well films do you look forward to this time of year or do you brace yourself for a load of Christmas schlock see you know wrong when you socialite because there is an awful lot of golf that ends up in the cinema this time of year but I d while of a bow is that you can revisit some old classics you know Muppets Christmas Carol elf even die hard if you really fancy something a bit different a lot of other die hard is a Christmas movie I always forget but then of course it s the set at Christmas there s a real debate raging in our office right now about whether Die Hard is a Christmas film I maintain. The fact as Christmas he s an office Christmas party it s a Christmas film it s perfectly acceptable to watch it on Christmas Eve and also a young man like you probably won t remember this but I m old enough to remember when you only really got to watch films at home around the Christmas period when they re on to restoral t.v. You know before D.V.D. s before v.h.s. Were really knocking them out die hard always reminds me of that period as well it is definitely a sore eighty s ninety s yes staple Yeah definitely I remember having it on v.h.s. And every Christmas but out of Krakow of the under the stars covered say it s time it was brilliant Yeah you know it s time so what have we got Let s live in the now for a while Shall we what s new well talking of Christmas films that I didn t really enjoy this week I ve been to see daddy s home too starring Mark Wahlberg Will Ferrell Mel Gibson and John Lithgow all fantastic actors but unfortunately this isn t the best film follows on from the 1st daddy s home and we ve got Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg step dads you know like you know really Wolf Errol has married Mark Wahlberg s x.y. He s looking after his kids things are perfect that code outing and you know things are brilliant Unfortunately for them Mel Gibson and John Lithgow that dads turn up for the Christmas period and well the crux start to show I think we ve got a clip where you have in days the fixed price. Is even better this year before the Christmas lights in the back you know I just. Like to get the Christmas like an old . Grandpa Kirk. Clip from Daddy s home too so I guess the idea is that what the the new dads on the scene the grandad s effectively cantankerous old grumpy Well Mel Gibson s doubt the idea is that Mel Gibson is the typical cool too edgy granddad John Lithgow pop pop you know always there with a hogan a story and yeah you know what I want to see this yes that I am going to completely honest as I always am this film was pounds it was absolutely rubbish the issue is with most comedy see. Equals is the script writers tend to be quite lazy and the trick to the trick to it is not backslide to where they were in the 1st film I want your backsliding to Daddy s home one well that s a recipe for disaster was that a stinker I must confess I ve not watched it even a regional Well will you don t use of they have about no watching it s one of those films or a mystery in a cinema thankfully but my little brother put it on about 6 months ago and I kind of like I could please turn a server can we please turn this over it was poor with a capital p. Will Ferrell has done some decent films but he s almost you know one good one bad is me you have to watch out with him I think you spot on you know like for every anchorman you ve got Talladega Nights with him you know there s just it s just if there s no it s patchy isn t it the performance it s not what you want and in this one unfortunately it s another poor performance you were talking about before for me his best work and it s just it s just not Stacey s lazy that s what it is it s he s not even trying and I think this frat boy style of humor that you know he embodies he s just tired now it s grown up a little bit and he s as you say famous for for Anchorman what about Mel Gibson has been a bit of a vehicle for rehabilitating Mel Gibson Well I don t really like to dwell Mel Gibson and I think of his his journey through Hollywood since the controversies that surrounded him and you know some of the things he sat particular controversial he made original everyone seemed very willing to forgive him because he made a decent film in this he s just bored you can tell he s bored it s a paycheck at the end of the day on some show I know because he is a good actor you know I love him in Braveheart but now he s no good in that I love Dr No get me started about I will I will bore on forever about. You mentioned that one was pants we ll be speaking more pants very shortly because you want to speak about Captain Underpants which is out on d.v.d. We ll get to that s a bit music 1st Aretha Franklin respect. Plenty streets in what police have described as their most successful guns around to ever the campaign lasted for 2 weeks said to Chief Superintendent Mary Doyle definitely place 243 is more than we ve ever had surrendered before and it s 243 lakh firearms on the straights a man from odd weeks been arrested on modern slavery charges after police raided properties across 4 different counties 7 people including the 43 year old from weights and road have been taken into custody for the number of remaining women rescued from sexual exploitation and are being warned that more than 80 giant bees are going to be invading Manchester next summer the be in the city sculpture trail is expected to bring with it a 1000000 visitors and a $20000000.00 pound boost to the local economy created just as weather mostly dry but very windy and extremely cold with lows of minus 2 Celsius. The e.c.u. Radiant munches displeased. With the afternoon sport you starting with Man City in action tonight Mike they are indeed have a chance to build that gap at the top of the table back 8 points a win for the Blues will see them such a new club record as well of 12 successive league wins however the Blues boss Pep Guardiola says he s just focusing on the next match and not rewriting the history books the only way I know the situation to do is just don t think too much in the future and stay as much as possible in the present think you know. To have more than 70 points to play in just 8 points when you have to place more than 70 is nothing absolutely nothing has to be counted and be happy would you have done in the next I did with 2 still we can do what Contrave city against sometimes and so not all $95.00 f.m. From 7 the bill will be. With Jimmy wagon the former Blues boss Peter Reid in sports 6 Well I got c.i. Today he s only 5 points at the moment after the Reds won 42 what for the last night to those goals came from midfielder Ashley Young and his manager Joe is a merino believes the 32 year old is playing better than ever this season less since I learned what Ashley Young is know what he can do and on the positions he can he can play very versatile and he has the spirit that United needs this is in his playing more as a left back and he s performing really well for us at his age I think is probably better than better than ever but boss Phil Parkinson as well as the walls manager Nuno Espirito son so has been charged with alleged improper conduct following the match on Saturday packets and has until 6 pm on Monday the 4th of December to respond West Brom have confirmed Alan Pardew s the next close manager on a 2 and a half year deal Pardew says he s thrilled with the opportunity place 1st game is probably one he d rather not have it s against his former side Crystal Palace on Saturday President Alexander sefer in his joints United midfielder one matters a common goal project and pledged one percent of his salary to charity the announcement was made via matters Facebook page in a Facebook Live session with Mr Saffren wanted to malls in England prop Chris Hill says Wayne Bennett squad are feeling relaxed ahead of Saturday s World Cup final against Australia in Brisbane It s England s 1st final in 22 years in Hill says everyone s excited and you would imagine it s like you go on a weekend. I want you know we ve got a bit. Tomorrow the feeling. Of. Lancashire s assistant coach Mark Chilton is heading Down Under to work with the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash and with England in Adelaide ahead of the 2nd test he says he hopes the experience can help benefit the domestic club next season I haven t done anything like that here and the chap who spent last season but I haven t done it really so after I ve spoken to people that ramps quite a lot but it will be here we go to actually see how England passed that game as well so it s just a bit and I don t well fixtures for next season s County Championship have been announced today in Lancashire will begin the new season at home said nothing I m sure in April. I m not so you sports. 5 as well in the. B.b.c. That s Paul McCartney on wings on b.b.c. Radio Manchester listen to what the man said if missing to school. Are about I maybe I wouldn t be where I am so I like being where I am today which is opposite Tom Percival from you know what he was into fellow we were going to talk Captain Underpants way before what is out on d.v.d. Now someone d.v.d. On Monday I think of picking some something up a little stocking full for Christmas he can t go wrong with this it s a real treat I mean I can see it I can see you were looking at me with you don t quite believe me do you know I d do believe it I tell you why my. Boy he s 8 years old I took him to see it when he came out the cinema I wasn t really sure what to expect and he loved it and I tell you what he s a bright boy but he s never like reading. After watching the Captain Underpants film he s honest he went out he was like some sort of addict he went out and bought every single caption and pounds book in the shop with his own money and absolutely devoured them so it s for that reason as well as a goodbye Oh really that s amazing see you say I went into this because I try and see literally everything I can including film called captain of the cancer especially obligated professional obligation so I went and I say wasn t expecting much and I just found this really charming I mean it s low brow toilet humor but as far as lowbrow toilet humor goes it s pretty decent I mean compare it to some of the tripe that we put out for kids these days like the emote you move it it s just you know it just it makes you smile and you know at this time of year you know you re looking for something for Christmas you can t go wrong with something it s just going to make kids laugh I m sure this is my best friend how much we just make comics and try to make each other laugh. He s the worst principal in the world ever since you attended the school has been responsible for one break after another. Some of the most of really hard to pull off like that Tiger I don t think it was quite. The animation is actually really simple isn t it almost a line well it isn t but it s based on the animation from the star not the animation the got the the drawings in the book isn t there and you know as we said this is just I just found it really really charming and I m glad that you some liked it because I thought I did I might I did have some reservations that maybe it gets a little addle and risque in certain places but it s just it s a good quote is a good quality animation and I think that they are quite lacking these days you know you get a film there is something that is just churned So you know I was a big fan I think as well there s as we all know there s a lot of films that are made for kids. But also for adults and that is a thing to be celebrated but I got the impression Captain Underpants whilst it can be enjoyed by adults is really a film directly kids and if I don t enjoy it too that s fine but this is 100 percent children which I think is nice as well no you re definitely right let s talk about I m about an atomic blonde on the disaster artist in about 3 minutes time 1st of all it s when I was happening on the road. Just travel update about Greg Edwards is here with some very slow traffic on some stretches of the m a 2 a network now this afternoon the m 60 on the clockwise side slowing right down from Junction 8 to Carrington round to Junction 12 attack and there s a big queue outbound on the m 6 o 2 as well right the way through really from Regent road and towards junction one tackles for traffic heads on to the m 62 those like there may have been a temporary problem just on the start of the m 62 westbound 12 tackles which is made traffic slower than usual the m 6 northbound slowing down from 19 it not straight through to junction 20. And it s very busy in the Stockport area on the am 60 Clo anticlockwise traffic is flowing from Junction 5 foot Princess Parkway round one at the permit and inbound on the m $56.00 is slow from junction 6 at Hale now right the way through to the m 60 not too bad going towards the panel. Quite well on the m 67 at the end of the May to a junction for off the may trace in traffic is slow Manchester bound on Manchester road because of road works around the junction where that George Richards way if you can updated 161228 double to double 5. Radio Manchester with me will be driving you home not be difficult until 6 o clock so I may return Percival from uni with his weekly film review I ve not heard about about what s it about Annabel creation So you ve never heard of one of our own yes I. Thought exactly this week you don t films Well this is a prequel to the prequel from the conjuring film so actually a very confusing set up but actually a very decent horror film and it s coming out again on Monday and you might be thinking he s off it s the festive season why do I want to watch a horror film again dark outside you know could look on the sofa with a quill you know and watch a horror film it s only just come out how it came it came out on t.v. It was released in cinemas in the summer I think July you know it s on t.v. Day I see and again I imagine in such just in time for Christmas but when it came on cinema I was raving about it because I m terrified of dolls so any horror film about dolls it isn t is a window by me but this is a really scary fellow anyone who s watched any of the conjuring films knows what they get what knows what to get into with talking demonic possession you know ghostly goings on things going bump things leaping at the screen and going and you know it s cliched but it works and when something works that that just makes it entertaining for me and creation is no different it s a mass is a marked improvement on its predecessor which was just awful this is a really fantastic film I think we ve got a clip of. This sort of the work you. Previously. Use of how this is. Supposed. Circe. Work. I love that massive sort of scary music what it piano a bass drum or something you can imagine here in that the multiplex. The base of the Asleep vibrating you can have well I m glad you mention the sound because this is one of those films where you know you do sit there with your eyes covered for a vast majority of imagining what horrors lurk on the screen but the sound in this was terrifying and I think that that s been something that all the conjuring verse films have done really well played with sound and of course it s d.v.d. Release but most people s home t.v. Systems and I do good I mean you know if you look at some of the stuff you can buy together and oh yeah I m sound of the sound bar and things like that you know you can do amazing things tell me about Tomic long and some of the I will get will try to get this one over quickly because it s this film for me was a real disappointment for style shot stars Shelly Sterling as an eighty s Spy Who sent to East Berlin to prevent the Cold War as these films so often are and it promised to be the female John working on a massive John wick fan so I was like this is going to be amazing and it was just so much style over substance the story was very poor and I think in these spy thriller things you need a really tight story otherwise the whole thing just falls apart we ve got a clip I believe we do indeed let s play it atomic bomb and. I chose this line. In song. It s going to get me Calcutta. But not today. Thanks for an intelligence collection called my. Agent goes for it was killed was. Did you know. Enough just. One of the film is and he goes it s worth it for the soundtrack. As we were just saying Well that was playing you know that for the sound is amazing and like this the shots are amazing it s a really well put together film but for some reason it just doesn t come together and it s such a shame because you look at the cast you ve got to show he s the run he s a really. Accomplished actress did amazing things as furious or in Mad Max Fury Road but here she sort of almost sleepwalking through it it does just promise too much it doesn t tie itself together and it s just it s a neon light it looks pretty but there s no substance to. This next one the disaster osseous Now this is one I m sure a film buff lot you will know all about it this is really one for the film Yeah like I ve been dreading talking about this film because it s such a confusing once up so for those who don t know there is a film out there called the Room which is widely considered to be the worst film ever made and it was made by a man called Tommy wise and bear in mind is up against Daddy s home to oh yeah exactly and I don t really know how to describe Tommy was what he is a man of mystery he claims to be from New Orleans but he has an Eastern European accent he is a millionaire but we don t know how but we don t know how he made his money. And he wanted to be an actor without any discernible talent and he made this movie the room which again was considered one of the worst films ever made but people love that they attended night screenings you know they do all sorts because they re obsessed with this film Well it s one of those so bad it s good and it s become a cult hit off the back of the ironic that he has made money he has it turned a profit you know he spent allegedly $7000000.00 on this movie quite I don t know but he you know eventually turned a profit through becoming a cult and James Franco bought the rights to the book the disaster artist which was written about the production of the film and he s turned it into this movie and this is so confusing I realize but it comes together to create one of the best films I ve seen this year it s a movie about making about me yes and James Franco directs and stars as Tommy wise and I m going to do an awful Tommy wiser impression because he sounds like this and it s very confusing and let s not borrow it yeah exactly that was I was dreadful he has such a unique. Accent Jess Franco s doing this pitch perfect impression of him is just super but I guess the big question for this one he s you probably love because you re a film I would the average man or woman on the street get something from this movie I m really glad you asked that because a colleague of mine at work was interviewing James and he picked out just how the sausage is made to before you can answer you know you have to see the film and he got no interest in the room he d never seen and he loved that he didn t he said he didn t stop laughing now whether that s because he was just laughing at James Franco doing a silly voice I m not sure but I know at the screening I was up everyone left smiling a beam and if you can see it it comes out in a week or so but I can t recommend enough it s just a fascinating look at how films are made or we got not one for the kids obviously both sounds like that show Pick of the bunch this week from the from what I can gather it certainly would be Tom Percival from you know how the film reviewer thank you very much for coming in. B.b.c. Radio Manchester this is the Bellamy Brothers your love life. And. The bellies. Let your love flow is b.b.c. Radio Manchester with me well bachelor in the chair in for Chelsea this week with you until 6 pm driving you home if you are just about to crack on with your journey home which will have the latest traffic on travel for you very shortly 1st though a sob story but one which has. Some goodness in it as well the funeral has taken place today of a homeless man from lady who died earlier this month it was only 31st birthday Chris Coleman was well known locally he used to sit outside the Tesco supermarket in Lee town center and when news of his death spread on social media a campaign was launched to pay for his funeral and I campaign raised 2000 pounds in less than a fortnight Well our reporter Kate West has been to Howard bridge pre-mature him in office and forests. And really sad story this one the story of another life being lost in our streets this is also a story about community people pulling together to help one of the thousands of pounds being raised in Chris s name on pay at the Kremas Taurima the service has just finished behind me it s a beautiful sunny day ahead this and shine streaming through the row of trees which surround it and lighting up the ground she s just covered in peaceful colorful flowers around 40 people have turned to say good bye to Chris today as it was their own they say died after and then I thought I m going to. Try to confirm. Or so they died lar the hard to make it work he said what does live up to the same thing I did Law It was just more so much you think of kind of how the community s all coming together and saying all this today. While I ve been here today of also been speaking to Stephanie said and she started this campaign to raise money for Chris s funeral Ok so I know Chris and his brother d.j. a Fairly well. On a weekly basis they were. They were outside stretches sometimes you d see them outside. And. They were always very polite they were and they would never ask you for anything and they were always appreciative of what you can give them and. Which he was always used to than him so whatever food he got feed the dog because he was he was his way of surviving . I don t think anybody should die on the streets. At the end of the day nobody should ever be in those circumstances the. Days father. And nephew. In Chris s name tell anybody else time straits. And Wake has been on average in the community and all of the money that s been raised hasn t been spent today is going to go to. People in this community. Ryan Park him and I m left with the Salvation Army Christian obviously fallen upon hard times and was quite well known throughout the community for being on the streets. It was a visible presence of homelessness. And I think has been quite know just by the community it s I skate West or is that the comments Henri I m in additon for us today on b.b.c. Radio Manchester for the wake of Chris Kohn And what Johnson if northwestern Iraq how will you know I m very well thank you and I believe your covering that story as well yeah we are we going to converse and it s just a sad story isn t it you know Chris died on his own homeless cold the community s come together to pay to give him or give him a funeral but one of those sort of stories about time and particularly in the run up to Christmas is one that you know really will resonate it is and this is absolutely no criticism of those who did rally together and pay for his funeral because he s such a nice thing to do but you almost want to look at society as a whole and say why do we wait until someone dies before we stand almost to me I ve just written the headline fit for Northwest and that s exactly what I thought when I wrote it because you don t want to criticize the community who ve come together today to to do such a calming thing but that he could such a shame that Chris ended up in that situation and there s as we ve heard with Andy Burnham initiatives across Greater Manchester as the Greater Manchester to try and stamp out homelessness is a problem in this city and I spoke to a counsellor on the program a couple of weeks ago and he was saying actually in so much part of the problem is because people know that homeless people will be looked after in Greater Manchester and it almost makes it a magnet for people from other areas to come to because they think that claims that you know they ll be treated as well as possible here so we ll talk a bit about that we ve got a camera that. We re also looking as I know you reported earlier on about the big b. Sculptures they re going up around Manchester City Council very keen not to make too much about the whole thing at the bomb bomb in May and the fact that obviously there s a very close proximity and saying it s not just about that and they don t want us to go on about that for too long but that symbol became you know which has been on the bins around Manchester for years yeah it really you know captured the global imagination actually as a symbol of defiance in the wake of what happened 6 months ago and they did that they want to sort turn the corner to some extent with the police symbol to make it more about looking forward and then back but as you say people will associate it like you know not yeah exactly but you re quite right and it s certainly as want to look for to now readily the car we were just chatting off a poor poor fellow I think of him of the no brown both houses scraping by I don t know but we will she will show the girls I mean I just came last night I missed him so it was it lingered scored the goal when he ran half the length of the pit Yes he was. And I watched I saw on the screen today and I saw it s the 1st time for it since Ryan Giggs retired you ve looked at something I thought my goodness that s just like Giggs running at the defenders in the defenders are all fighting off a great goal City play tonight as well so we ll look ahead and look back on all football Take a fantastic catch Roger on Northwest not just rush. And he got me for an hour as well as b.b.c. Radio Manchester with well by so with you up until 6 o clock going up after 5 you ll be getting all the latest news traffic trouble and we re. Going.

The radio announcers just. Yes hello good evening 6 o clock on b.b.c. Radio Manchester means sports at 6 I m Bill Rice and we re talking Manchester United ahead of the Reds game away what food this evening we want to hear from you was always 10161228 double to double 5 just some of the things you may want to talk about this evening which current United players do you think need to work harder for the same arena is happy with the mentality of Rommel. Warner to others maybe not pulling their weight is Mesut Ozil the creative playmaker that Manchester United are crying out for Arsenal seem to think he s going nowhere but easy future target for Jos a marina Oh and is it right that you can have too many attackers on the pitch or are you happy if everyone s a forward if it means goals and entertainment give us your thoughts right now by calling 016-1228 double to double 5 we ll also talk tonight about the life and career of a Manchester United great red white and black more is the new book all about the career of quite a Blackmore who won the very 1st Premier League title with United as well as European glory in the Cup Winners Cup as well although on the way between now and 7 on your local station for sports. He was just as it was so there s plenty to get through between now and 7 with the former United player Clayton Blackmore very relieved. Isn t craving great to have you with us armed author and journalist Wayne Barney series well even in Ca hello and we want to hear from you and I want 6122 a double to double 5 there and went from so for it is going to get us on the y. This evening evening so you have 8 only bro you Ok Very good thank you right so just a merino I don t know if you heard it after the game at the weekend but it was praising Romelu Lukaku suggesting he s got exactly the kind of mentality that he wants he works hard for the team he s graphed a nice chase him back to left back putting pressure on defenders to win the corner that led to the go. I got the impression he was suggesting maybe one or 2 am pollen white when you look at this current squad are there one or 2 you think could do a little bit more Oh definitely it is always which I wish for you look at it all you want to say which are call it the white is not very rough go up. Like now it s logical. To me when he plays a player you call one of up Joe you know you re going to go. Wash your animal cow C mon you know I was going to change but I don t know Jack you change your back to the left but I want people. To go on the. Back while she. Plays every dollar bill so if you don t pull away there s only one way to go is out the door he can t name names or his probably not wise for him to but you can if you want so when you re watching who frustrates you. Create your own Look at Russia and Europa League you probably our best player you know it true you know what you mean I don t watch. It was our best player. Thought I was just awful juggler I often like they were terrible because it was definitely one of the only why are you so sure if you want to go to the jury I m the one general right go. To show you of old issues but you dog dogs are it will be nice if you know all the. You know they don t lie and they have been moral to the story suggesting he could even be on his way back to Dortmund if he can t sell in a month just the United we shall wait and see what happens with us which brings us to our next topic a conversation tonight where they which he s met. Often say he s got we know whether he continues to get linked to United on to Judge Iranian What do you think the fancy ball trough and the functionality is like. Like you want to frame all the shots on a cell or cold because you think I know it makes you excited shell it was a national park. So if it goes on to 3 then I would say Well I think it was on a new top job well Joe right yeah Coles over here. Doesn t Get It probably gets on well with the old days are very old Richard. Lots of friends. Really genuinely well because of this change of you just don t you don t play fair with John if you know. And welcome aboard He s with us played only we don t we can t go out to the polls with 161 c 2 a double to double 5 if you want to have your size so you from sulphide joins us now as well even to say. Ok I m very good thank you Are you a fan of Magic No I m not really. I m surprised when he has to be honest and I don t think he s I mean maybe on the phrase Ok but I just think he goes missing a time to a day off you know it s not a quick call I have a ball no I don t like him and I don t want him right now you ve got you ve got a rabbit she doesn t write even she doesn t want to see you you ve got a check you see gosh if you believe that clutch player you know all this let people get on the fuck. It just oldish it again you don t damage it in today don t we always play but I asked well you know I m to get a final figure and he s still not saying so about produces a sponsor. Well goals they don t over. Well again I don t know it s wrong. Got a probability of a station though John you were asked also got a lot of kombucha while you play with your mom well if you don t think you might be signed. Up now not really sure I just think you know perfect charge of play or what we re likely to get to. Know we were sure all you wanted by if you were a part of the gospel. To Mary if you want from where she now. We re not. On a frequent complaints around the place. Lol I think you were well let me ask you let me ask you both a stand do you think. Is a not cry you don t make it s Aryan. Or do you think so now maybe in the past but not now. Ok There you go I want 61 c 28 double suitable 5 if you want your site or not the other thing I want to ask you both while I ve got Yeah you can have this one 1st so I just say Marina after the game we can t have this to say about starting with Marsha Allen Rushford I wouldn t be surprised if some of the pundits. But. I think there were. Because sometimes you play with too many attacking players and you lose control of . The game what do you think so as Josie got a point if you throw too many forwards on do you actually lose control of the game in the middle of the park. Well it depends if you ve got feeding them doesn t it that they want the pockets of got decent people stayed in the boat from the state and can never have too many attackers I think it makes the game more exciting I ve got most chance of scoring goals to which you know we lacked on Saturday didn t win yeah you telling me hey I thought it was never going to come to be honest Bryan was the best team in the 1st half they were they were I think now I think the most in place the best because that s the way we play and I think with having the 3 on the pitch he seems to me fine Webby What do you think we not going to see these 3 together again now is the sound of the manager the founder that you know only if we only forget so it s a very brittle. Ball like sure he ll never go through faults and also way football is also a very deal was it always I know but just beyond like say no it s time we ll play good Jason Jones why are you shocked the game where we have to wear a Q professional when we change a lot such and I can see it. Ok There you go write a star on web and Sue from Seoul for getting us off to a flying start on sports 6 talking Manchester United if you want to have your sights are not all you need to do is pick up the phone and call us 18161228 double to double 5 with us this evening for me United full back Clayton Blackmore although played in multiple positions of its effects likely in the field wide positions from the laws were clear no one offered him a clear one off the line in a European final so you did your bit in your was a super couple or got one off the line actually forgot about that one. Bit of footage of the Yeah Yeah you know you when you call in let s put it that way what do you make of all this. Is he a player you are Miles Yeah I think he s a great player you know and I whether he says it for me when he ran into last well they ve got I think they started playing Walcott up front he s got serious pace and I think that s where he s good he can play balls in from quite deep as well I mean when he was at Real Madrid he was further on the penalty box when he was you know laying in those little ball which breaks a team down but when he was at Arsenal he was actually doing 3040 odd balls in behind the defense when he got quick players you know you straight in you know they were getting them in a goalkeeper and he was a kind of thing you need for players who are going to break a team down I mean in the past united for me in the last 30 years we ve we ve run the football in the Premier League and in Europe as well by playing wing as we ve had 442 always the 2 up front so all except for strikers top strikers you know and I mean you got to remember Van Gaal s came in and got rid of 2 or 3 about top strikers and he sounded like he didn t want competition for places where you know we ve always been brought up on you go you need competition to keep you on your toes Yeah and it proved that it worked as well it does seem to have changed a little bit Popa has got that ability as well as we move on the other week against Newcastle. Supply You know it goes over the top to pick people out so you get to carve it so you know you ve been effectively Yeah you look at discos or you know that s what s gold you did he play the balls of the chopper you know you need plays you re going to make the runs they need to know each other I can guarantee when you when ever Ryan Giggs go or whatever Scholes you go on the ball Ryan would make a run for him he d make a run in behind because he knew we deliver the ball you know you don t to be run in and nobody s delivering the ball and that s where you ve all got to get on the same wavelength and you know it s moment you know Paul for me Paul because it s got a load to offer you know and I was actually training with him but 5 years ago in a cage and he probably should be in play and then but you know 1617 and he was actually playing a bit better than I think the 90 millions put a bit of pressure on him and he s trying a little bit too odd when he gets chances but you know he s a fantastic player and he s only going to get better so even then as a teenager you could see he was going to make it yeah I mean the only thing I wanted to do see him play in the 1st team you know a result he was on fire as a kid the top 10 and everything every time you have a shot the difference is now that some of the shots are going over the bar and that s for me that s just trying a little bit to put a bit too much power on the shots but out of the round on the other you know you ll get your sot out because he s got he s got a lot of time and he s going to be a fantastic player for us definitely saw that a little bit last season white ball in the series well author of your book and football journalist Manchester United fan as well. As a supporter I mean I remember when you know fans were not keen on the idea of Robin van Persie and not worked out all right what do you think. Yeah I think he is certainly an upgrade on what we ve got in terms of mix are in and I just think that he s got extra touch class. Food talk about get him on a free transfer it s a no brainer if you talk about you know for your 50000000 I think it s a different question and you d be looking for different solutions. Probably won t be the most I will it because if he s deals running down you can. Even if you pay a fee for him in January it will be a small affair I don t know the reason it we paid $20000000.00 pounds freshly in the early twenties contracts Arsenal won t sell him for for anything less than a big big some are don t think so I don t know. But I would say that I don t think Leno would go for I don t think January is in anyone s minds with our transfer Pardew think then the season makes sense if it s on a free transfer obviously does because he s a quality player for free you d be stupid not to say that chance what s the space on that one I think I want 61228 double suitable 5 if you want to get involved you can also tweet us tonight b b c r m United turn your cash in says sorry and we mentioned earlier an upgrade on mic Tarini says Mickey is a poor man s Shinji Kagawa who was another one of course who came from the London ended up going back to Dortmund eventually right Mikey from Barry joins us now evening. I m very good thank you right what do you think 1st off can you have too many attackers on the pitch as Josie got a point yeah sorry I mean really across the game at times in that 2nd. A little. I think if you were my guts and I. Had finished. I don t really want to claim dry and I was not actually relaxed so it depends on the game and the opposition there will be times when you can play all 3 of them together but probably not tonight what for it is that what you say yeah yeah definitely I mean we could even see it you know 10 down one moment one minute 20 minutes. Before I don t think you ll go with a gun for a while now really up a surprise if you did and I did at Arsenal on Saturday to be honest Ok And what about the other question we ve been asking so far tonight really see the player that United neat. There s no Dabo is world class players I was said before is tight around which a good book. Is obviously Marino get the best odds in the world to cover the full book of essays on this topic now for a few years our only underperforms going to take games and honestly for the years is that I asked our current member includes Old Trafford and I was doing well once I think he s gone missing every time he s come so as to play for Arsenal not not many in Arsenal play well Old Trafford I did I can remember last summer and I want to jinx a bottom and the last on the article game it to be honest well. Well always the f.a.q. Will always as well as. There aren t enough many of the marquis to be fair. Ok once. Again so. Right Ok well we ll wait and see if he does end up at United or not give us your thoughts on whether you think he s the man if you don t think he s the man maybe you ve got someone else in mind or maybe you think Taryn is got the future in these towns and he just needs to prove that he s good enough to take that number 10 role give us your thoughts There s matter as well of course 816-1228 double to double 5 on Twitter josh Tommy says all the players work card are can t see one who doesn t Brandon says matter and makers are in the most that in my opinion at the moment and j.m. On Twitter I m assuming that s not Jones I m reading of it s somebody else for the same initials says sorry and is the obvious target United lacking creative midfielder based on this one fact should be the last candidate if you want to get involved in Iowa 161228 double suitable 5 going to be talking to Clayton Blackmore about his time at Old Trafford right after this. The way to Manchester travel update his Greg Edwards Bill are still slow on the m 60 on the clockwise carriageway this evening from me to Carrington around 12 calls and further round on the anticlockwise side there s been an accident now between junction 19 at Eaton park and 18 Simister island is closed playing one on the 4 lane strange causing some misspoke traffic in the area looking a lot better go around toward stop or now still some problems though on the entry slip road to the anticlockwise side that junction 6 sale. Means traffic is still quite slow joining the carriage way they have lifted all the restrictions so now by the looks of it following that accident they were on still slowing down though from about 5 that Princess Parkway Rantoul. I wanna start. Off some slow traffic on the hounds with bypass Q towards They stand the green roundabout better news in Rochdale they ve reopened Manchester road the 664 need to Queensway following the instant they run and traffic returning to more normal levels the problems on the tram so severe delays on the line because of a broken down tram tickets are being intercepted on local bus routes instead if you can update us to call in 016-190-9364 extension 9 breakfast with Alison Bush the Worst and I realise this is a bit bizarre and irrational hatred of somebody worse than it being an irrational hatred it s an irrational hatred of a fictional character. So we went to watch murder on the Orient Express good cast list I have realized I ve got an irrational hatred of his cool. City good music and the film itself. I think you ll say yes now I m in a I m an avid to much all convey to anyone I m about British football has lost its identity id for me you know there s so many Europeans in the game manage in not many plays Not many teams play 2 up front I mean less the city won the league 442 they play 2 up front all season they played a bit route one but what it does it works are 2 genres and if you have a want to be but this respectively Center for me then the rate they re the ones who are not as fits on the field because they don t have to run and they read the game while they dance or they will run in throughout the game so they re going to lose a lot of fitness every time they play and the more you work then the tighter they get the moment sticks and make some. Time I when you look at the options that you know I ve got from not sounds but now the Cockers obviously gone off the boil a little bit more Shallum Rushford as well are you crying out for Marino it s apply to what from well or say is. When you really came when you applied labs and they were midfielders carrying or. If he would be able to see you know the defense a good deal but you know if you have failed us I think I was just well you know what was quite quite right. But we ve both I think it s your own I think you could be one of the top or even have a great shot with Moscow or Russia but when I think obvious bargained for I go yeah. I just say yes a.j. I think we should bite. And I m sorry we did defiance it got you quite straight Apoc just contradicted by an argument I bought. I just think it s what it s called The Gospel to all it s called the boys yes. It s by the best way to go down and well you know you re playing 3 at the back is an option isn t it and if you want to play 3 up top and you want to East don t want to lose a midfielder then you can get 3 in the Bible and it does get complicated so I like when we play 3 of the back and I m going to say Reserve was ripped miles and it was usually because the center ROMs are not quite good enough to do it on their own cell we played with a sweep and soon as it was it was about protected Yeah yeah but I mean I think it when you play 3 in the back of the c. In the full backs a wing backs up played wing back and each I will have when I play and I try to stay level with the ball but then if you don t push through the fall when the center robs enough to reach you they have to split and I don t widen this big gaps in between the sandbags and one mistake and they threw the ball whole box all across that way but some other wing is in the. Way I think it is when I m going about. It it s also about what I mean you know. It just costs a dollar such a basis $88.00 so if I think about what we re doing but still 2nd so. If you take you away a great see of course if they win you actually look at it was about a good stop. Well it s a months of improvement on last year thanks for talking to us Tom I enjoy the guidance and I want 6132 right there will suitable 5 but is that right actually and you think way you know it where this is not lost she had made months of improvements the 2nd in the league more points more goals perfect record all you yeah if it wasn t for the team being top of the title we don t we don t be a little bit happier with yeah 3 on I think the biggest thing is that it s because they play in good football you know that they re in better style and you know they are but again you re watching it and I guess I did fail and I could go either way you know that when you get teams who are not scared of other teams and they have a Gorham and get in their faces which is what for them do tonight that s why they ve been there my lad the manager he s very good the works and I think some of the teams are based on the way the manager has played themselves and they were in on they were caught up top I know I know as a defender I don t somebody close me down so if I m playing up front you know you ve got to close down quickly and then the most attendance will spill a ball to you straight away if you put pressure on of the fans they ll get to get rid of it so they don t get robbed with the ball and that s you know you need a full press Spurs been doing it for the last 3 years and they ve probably been the best that except they squads not been big enough to play in the Champions League in the Premiership for me and I defended quite blunt Laurel b.b.c. Radio Manchester. We mention the fullbacks because that way is only Valencia and actually on the wing is the kind of being can fit into a whole box or box you played Yeah but I mean that if they don t know right Evan they don t incredibly well consider it yeah you know they ve done fantastic I mean that the probably been our best players Manasses come in again this year and he s a couple of great crosses from both sides he s been playing both sides well and you know we scored goals are from so he s doing the wing but I mean I d have thought you know we could play the 2 of them together on one side so we ve got to fall back on 2 wings on the same side and I rather him one of them doing all the hard work that isn t even on the right say. But I think what you re trying to do is break things down and we re going as we ve proved in the past but I ve been good wingers you don t have to be the foldback in the room behind them and it breaks them down a little man. When she s when she s more difficult. For me when I play ring back I mean it was international So I m just following the ball up and down you know if the ball s in the side or trying to stay level so you don t have to run too odd you just make sure you know where play and then you get back with play and I watch a lot of games these days and in the old days when we played if you lost the ball you were drilled in the Get up get behind the ball and I don t see that happening all the time and every team has a lot of teams that don t get back quick enough you know players don t get up and they should be sprinting back Ok give us your thoughts 186-1228 double suitable 5 planes here because your story s been immortalized now I ve got a copy of it here red white and black more Whoever came up with the title 1st off this deserves 50 percent of all the proceeds with a goal of terrible cases it s a great site leisurely go they got off the boat these witnesses as put your story into print. How do you feel about it how do you feel when you see that now your Korea down in woods now I think that was the thing really you know it was just so record for me and I can go to it I think we ve missed a few things out or. 3 actually Cyril you know if this may have feelings along the way and but you know of I m quite happy with of lot of quick look through it then it s yeah I m quite pleased with it so how those a young lad from Wales I don t plan for Manchester United Well I mean I think any kind of football you need a little bit of talent so you know I think obviously I will but I knew that I was playing rugby in football when I was down there and it you go scouts come in around watching you when you play for your town team of the sea they go and watch you then because that s probably the biggest team around there the next teams international team so I mean I went to 13 clubs as a kid on trial but you know I turned them on tonight that I was sold and I came up there and I was like 13 or something and playing with 16 year olds who they were on trial as well you know I was just sold. Right away so did you have a choice to make any point between rugby and football. Always little There s always fatal for you but your own about 15 I played up a year and then I realize no. Other law is an elusive enough I was quite quick believe or not but you know people when they when you move up a year national You get the way you know it s bigger players and they say you go straight remember that s not what you thought not for me thank you I didn t get drunk but I was watching other players get crushed and I was just I was hoping Yeah I thought I knew but to be honest my father was a footballer and I was always going to go down that route I think. Quite was involved that you know it in an incredible time during the eighty s and on the big wrong of course ball then Sir Alex arrived and it became. A new era for United in so many ways that incredible So a procession of success began in well I was going to say the late eighty s but the early ninety s effectively with the f.a. Cup winning 9090 Why did you want to tell the story well Clinton won let s tell it . It s a great story because he s got a unique place in the United. I mean if you look at the night he won season 99 he warmers the arguably the best player. His words by the way not just rolled out a few drinks with. Incredible Taher isn t it that a season right now where you ve ended with European silverware and he s saying you re one of the best plays or the best player that we ve got this season yeah yeah as a massive compliment but you know I mean it s like I say it s a team game and you know evolved has always been about the same you know whatever comes with it you know it s great but I think the biggest thing because I was playing left back all season Not Yeah so 1st time I ve played in one position for the full season and what happens when you get to know everybody s movements every you know all your teammates you know inside out so it makes the game a lot easier believe it or not you know I mean it s got really tough now these days because you know you ve got so many. Games like the other week we had 7 changes to the team knowledge when you re playing with a different team and it s quite is that it does show you don t understand why people don t understand you know is a big difference when you change your players and personality time but you ve got to get used to each other but again it doesn t stop the work in his eyes you can sorry one carry on we rudely interrupted I will acknowledge is going to give clear and some more complements not so you re not a. Door at 7 I know but I think he s I should say and I think it s fair to say as well that he would as underage as he was as a player he could grace some of the greatest United side you could have put him in the treble side being disrespectful to Gary Neville but you could put it right back and make a great impression there because of such a great crosser still great work on such a score of great goals as well I mean you talk about him being a fullback but that s you know you look him up and say Oh you played a fullback but the thing that comes to mind if you saw a claim play is the number of amazing goals that scored. 10 sided Jack-O. From Lee away install to us will be with you very soon on b.b.c. Radio Manchester I just want to ask you a couple of things because when I picked up the ball quite in that the 1st 2 things I wanted to look out was not know it was because of the European Cup Winners Cup run which I remember watching our Md grow we know we haven t and European football for years you know it wasn t well obviously you didn t have as players Well you know this was new and exciting to me and it was like United going into Europe and you just when you carried on through the competition when I had no idea what to expect you scored that incredible free kick against Montpellier which I was watching earlier but. It felt like a she went on a lot of people talk about the f.a. Cup and how important it was Figgis 1st try the fear maybe kept him in a job but the Cup Winners Cup seemed as big if not bigots in May Well I wasn t really into the pie is yeah it was a surprise it was a big of saying you know when the f.a. Cups a fantastic thing you dream of as a kid just playing there but the way she won it or not but that you win trophies to get in there other trophies and obviously the Cup Winners Cup was the next step and you know it was because I think those were being out of Europe for 5 years you think you are when you go to an e-mail you know everybody was judging us on the way England were playing and they weren t playing that great. But Miles Memon what Mark said Mark Hughes up by Munich the year before when he came back and he said that by Munich players say we must win in Europe this year because the British teams are back and next year they were scared of us but that was when we used to play 442 Yeah well so it might be scared again because the English clubs are doing well in the Champions League but we ll have to wait and see how far they all go but I mean it was a great run and then boss allowed in the final obviously Sparky against these old clothes school to Copeland s well and I watched the highlights a lot tonight and the 2nd half in particular you see but sort of yeah as weird when you think about how if you watch the game is not going to show a goal except for the free kick which actually scored off which was a huge problem but yeah. You know it was I think we could ve done better with it but you know it was it was a really good performance we watch and it s like I said how hard we worked and moved we didn t give them time to play if you give teams time to play you know I think very good they ll play all round you and they ll make you look you know foolish but if you like I say if you get in people s faces close them down make it out from they don t like the current While see it might be somebody said to me that that felt like the moment the players believed. Again because because it was European competition and yeah you know certainly they believe we can be anybody and I m not was very much the catalyst for what came after obviously winning the league it quickly is down the line is how it felt did you feel completely on top of the world at that point yeah you did because you ve beaten the best in Europe so you know and it was. I think real was of what slogan before you know when I was growing up united before we got bombed and of seeing teams come to Old Trafford and they block up trying to get a draw but with us who you know we ran away to win leading go away to get a point we went away because we thought we could beat everybody and you know I think that s the way if you go away with you know it s a pitchy playing on the same sized pets why should you think we need to defend. You know what s going to talk among them when the game is the United spirit in a nutshell the other thing I looked up in the book was not sick right which was the season when you started with 10 straight wins. Which is kind of relevant at the moment because of the way city started the season but there was a season that a lot of people might not remember now in the mid eighty s when you know it started the league season like an absolute trying. Yet 2nd half of the season it fell away and yeah well I mean I get it football is about the play it s all about the players you can go on about managers you know you Sir Alex got 4 or 5 years in the club stuck with him and they got rewarded by 30 years well 2020 years on of winning things and you look at it now you know you lose a few games and then look in a 2nd manages So you re not giving them time to build anything but the you know it was one of them days me but what I see is why did you start it well and when Where did it but it was all apart again it s not for me it s all about players if you lose a few players like city know if they live they ve lost Johnstone s because they played in midweek and he pulled his I m showing in the 1st off for me that sees it muscles are tired that s why his problems are and he s chasing Roddy So you know it s those are the kind of things in the next 2 months will define whether leagues are going to go for me there s a lot of games in December you know everybody in Europe but I ve been a month off where the boys you know let s throw another 15 games in a Fredricka play in England so it was a really tough 2 months for all British teams and I think that s right you know that s the difference you know you get we I think we I think it was actually international week the week before we lost and we also Schaeffer runs away as something not to show but I think I m sure it was in the national week when we go away and we lose a game and it s because you tie it in those days replayed Wednesday internationals and then you re on a Saturday 2 days in the know you need 3 days of you know rest of not playing much as a new you know we re doing that this year they played softly in the middle of a day of Sunday and play Monday it s not. Big period coming up the United of what for tonight and it starts no satellite any city Well Moscow density and they don t become you know I mean us that s a huge game isn t even at this early stage you know I mean there are going there I mean we were gone but I think we lost a few of those last year or 2 or 3 of them. You know that massive games but again it s now down to the manager does he use the squad the right way you know you ve got to you know you ve got to rest people who are doing on the leg work otherwise you lose them to injury and I think you ll find the same or setting I m expecting of a couple of them to pull up in the next few weeks because I usually do around this time and we very interesting to see what happens if if and when not does happen and we ll keep an eye on it on b.b.c. Radio Manchester far too early to say these tight races don t isn t one yeah yes although I did say word stuff last week because I just think at this point c c if at all a look with you know having a fresh cordon everything clear and right it s a lot of games coming up there might lose a few bodies and you know you know it might be look he can go in through that period and we might not have as many injuries as we ve got so far those kind of things don t since weapons united because we always seem to have a backlog of injuries and I think that s my concern is I m not sure that. Especially we are because the big problem that you know it out is the fluidity in the side and whether or not marine Your knows how to cope how to field the best side without. And even with if we have one or 2 injuries elsewhere. For example if we got injured you would see a massive difference in our performance. You know we need a lot of look I m not going to say that we re out of it I want to be more optimistic and you know there s a title risk there. Ok there is but I would think a lot of it will depend on the dog the warm it as well mil was used as a level of comfort in February I will look towards the middle of February was fighting the wrong you know the top 3 or 4 if you were there 8 points you know you still and over the show there you go see it s too early to call anything more from quite well on your calls right after this. The way to a man just to travel up to the latest on the roads from Greg still has some busy traffic at this evening Bill if you re using the am a 60 anticlockwise between 980 to park and 18 Simister either through looking quite slow on that stretch after an ice than there which has recently been cleared I still have a clockwise from Junction 10 of the Trafford Center around to 12 Ackles and also heavy in both directions still receiving on the m 56 between junction one traffic goes to and from the m 60 and junction 5 from the Manchester Airport spur out on the am 6 and delays on the northbound side now. On the road between 25 brain and 26 and that are all closed off lanes one and 2 quite a few building up their traffic on the m 62 is fine now going over the penance but still heavy on the Manchester bound side approaching Junction 12 tackles coming out from Liverpool they still cling on the m 67 this evening at the end of the May to a junction for. The traffic going towards a pen and on the tram still severe delays on the all chew gum line as because of a broken down tram. Tickets are being accepted on local bus routes if you can update us it s 161-129-3649 b.b.c. Radio Manchester. B.b.c. Radio much justice. Yeah b.b.c. Radio Manchester out and about or all across the Greater Manchester bringing you a flavor of Christmas back you want Wigan Ashton Manchester city center Chelsea Norris is coming to stop or an alternate Mark Sweeney will be visiting you in Bolton. Or as we carry on the countdown to Christmas on the 25th of December plenty of football between now and then claim Blackmore will be keeping a keen eye on Manchester United are I m sure ours will Caley from time Sardou joins us now on the phone evening late. Yeah I know you re a big fan of one matter so if I say if I say to you. And Manchester United does it Does it excite you or does it make you think you ll be taken to spot. I think. Those acts. I think we need some time because we can t be any less creative than what we re being at the minute it s boring sometimes I m sad and I m thinking at Wimbledon. My Old Trafford will just side to side and we never seem to go forward well that was the Louis van Gaal problem want to go and side to side it was meant to be a bit better and I think it has been a bit better recently as an it but when I was going out West I mean not. One was a Saturday and I will go you know but the talent we ve got and we should be in school we want to eat a every every game well it was better against Newcastle the week before it wasn t great against Brian I ll agree we had a book that I played that part not as well did. We they were carried out what they did we should look after ourselves we need to say to the strikers and I think he s lying so you know you cannot change any strike what I can provide so it is to want well that s right they don t use planes right well that s part of the issue here isn t it claim Blackmore it s not just about putting all the strikers on the pitch you ve got to make sure you get them the ball in the right place but you know there s $22.00 things so that you know if you ve got one on the pitch you know they ve got to shine around looking after him so it s harder to get the ball on to him. 3 He can have to like he could not have too many and about I don t think you have too many in the box and I always look at the last 30 years of football at United and every time I put a ball in the box is 5 or 6 players run in and charge in the box which you ve got more chance of scoring not not necessarily Senna followers but. It s a lot about yeah you know and maybe the midfielders after you know getting in the box a bit more and we re going to be 2 up front from a work center there Center Avs and you know whenever you put the ball in the box pressure the center follows we ve got the moment you know there s a good chance you re going to school the other thing we ve been asking people to not which player in the United squad do you think need to work a little bit harder. If you were the manager and you were going to give someone of the head Dr treatment it would it very. All of them bombing by a volunteer in young probably climate well at least you get a phone box yeah. Because we said we do know right earlier Yeah I don t know what we re making I said this to you I think I was on the scene weeks ago is gone miles the bottle I don t know what s up with an element of confidence yeah. Well I think most of them to be sad fly ball rain I don t mean to sound everyone else telling them to play I don t know because obviously I m not in the dressing room but I thought I was shot with this line a bit by them out they were not right here s one for you want to from Barry s got into it she says Mesut Ozil is a luxury player and disappears a lot if you know if you could get one player to Mari Grace from Leicester memes not showing that one you know well there s only one way of going to find out and that by getting the playwright with which I think plays in the fall always going to do they she s going to do that and then they just don t say you know you can bring anybody critical but you can t make and do you think you know it will try and do some business in January to the need to. Well I don t know because there are only Hugh about a couch by now moment. I think we need to go into a stay well or not I don t know we shall by and say thanks for talking to us tonight Kelly let s get straight to Jacko inlays been waiting a long long time still to us even to Jack I. Am great to have you with us on b.b.c. Radio Manchester What do you think he needs to work a bit harder. For me he s definitely central midfield you can see Russia. Obviously look out across the front trying but the fans came to him. Guys in defense I can t remember united seeing conceded in those least goals of what we are at the moment day those where he does week in week out when we need him. Even Well we call him the wall the way so he eats essential that we keep him because we vary the last line of defense so for me definitely essential central midfield also be allowed to marry Greg is not the standard of what much as you know if you re but looking out for me a somebody like I m so angry we would have I mean so much I found to be in for the transfer ban enough let s go Madrid and that s the type of player that munches United should be looking out for sectors that next level because it s so he plays must make it so stepping up wherever it being Paul but not being in the central midfield he s the man who can a lot but we ve always I must say it has just been a revelation says he signed I don t think he s even missed the games he signs he s the friendly and well what event would have been in Dublin. Sorry. Nonono you write. Him a c. On a rest in the League Cup Maybe not to cheat the pretty much every week. What did you . What did you think of that claim I mean I mean is this some truth in this that the service is not there that we need a bit a bit more well in the midfield I mean when I 1st thing you do from defense of his look and. I m playing one up front it s very difficult because you ve got to center off as marking him so then you go in the midfield can you play him from there if you re 40 yards away it s still a tough one because the center often gamble and try and win the ball because he s got so many that you can sweep for him so it s a massive thing where you ve got to up front and then 11 ends up full force or because it changes all the time you ve got full backs going forwards you know you midfield is making runs forward and the main thing is when you get into their box you can keep them in there when it comes out it goes back in because you re all in the right positions but I mean the kids it s Aaron for me he s just you know he s I think when he 1st came into the team last year I think it was become friends miss in l a suddenly burst into life and he was a little and sometimes like a little girl latest on and on about bright bright and they were really odd and that s the thing you can do you don t have to be brilliant on the ball you don t have to be a top if you were really odd you can stop the other team from playing and we can do that we can go for me I think we ve got another 2 games to go up you know we can work a lot harder when we haven t got the ball but what you don t see is because we ve got such a big team all our players a 6364 you know they re not going to look shop you know if we talk about a scolding scholars that Xabi your small and you get I don t know Arsalan rather than oh no there s no no no we re going to stay in a hotel for the receiver on but I m a complainer as rightly respects the other needs to be in the Premier League Yeah yeah well i city is for me and not as big you know there s a small team and they re playing really well but like I say if they lose a couple of key players all that falls down they start to do pass in them get the right right players in there to do the passon The other thing Jack I mentioned was different to how you read the last line of defense and what your answer on a defense staff you played under some priest he played big. Some pretty special keepers a lot Schmeichel and still does it doesn t instill confidence in the defenders when you ve got a strong goalkeeper behind you yeah definitely you know you have a minute there s nothing numbers you can go to do your job anyway you know whatever the keeper does you know he s going to look after his own job but when you ve got some election Michael I mean obviously a player never cell phones well for me at the time the 2 of them of the best in the world and for me I ve watched put watching diving I think he s he s eclipsed a mother because he s better than him you know he s a fantastic keeper great hands I watch a lot of goalkeepers of the moment and I ve seen him spend you know don t touch the ball for some reason he s got really soft on you know he catches a ball and that takes a lot of pressure off the fans what would he be like to play with because he makes these brilliant Reflex saves but I do wonder sometimes whether the defense we see it called for calm further out for bulls I don t see many goalkeepers come in and they do they punch when he comes out usually catches a very rarely drops and when he does come in Punch you know he does make most of the big thing for me doesn t make a lot mistakes touchwood you know and he s got great feet which is what you know it s just it s a given now you need that in the Premiership fantastic fête I want 613 to 8 double to double 5 Johnny olds arrived in what food for the game this evening evening to you John. Ok I m very well thank you are you looking forward to being entertained tonight how many strikers do you think Joe is going to play. 3 you know. About how we quite have really. Number of players but not when we ve got a few to break. I don t want to resign the starting with a no mail So yeah if you going to brave the elements you want cement. As it was the other person we ve been talking about tonight he s been linked with United Arsenal seem out of and he s not going anywhere in January so it might be one for next summer but is he a player that you d like to see you know I said yeah definitely I think it s for either side. Really. Come out and sat silent about going anywhere but you never know with a thing. Definitely one we should be interested in what is it you like about him in particular but it s just all around kind of a really that you know just right and you know these calls go if he can link up with. Very very gone you know it doesn t talk much but you don t need to talk about today on the job but he will talk about. It To Me is one of those all around plays that we should be looking for quite and. He s not well you know and lacking at the moment big creative it s a. For me it s you know of in the right personnel in the right places on the pitch somebody mentioned having Marshall up front as the cock of all the but we did I think we did it last season about 75 minutes in and we put push module up top alongside Ebro on the thing. I think Eric picked the ball up about 10 yards outside of plays a long ball over the offer line into the reflection and we scored a goal 1st time we you know when we play 2 up front within 23 minutes we scored a goal and that s what you can do because you go you got to you he s 6 foot 5 he braced powerful strong he can a little ball up you know and you ve got then you ve got pace alongside him do you think sometimes we get a bit obsessed maybe because of what Basile and he did a few years ago but I think we get obsessed with overcomplicate things and trying to play the Arsenal football when when actually this is more than one might to win a game in the us less I say less a city won the league and I mean we don t want to be launching every ball because in all Schmeichel. More balls to do than anybody in the team you know that and see if it works if you were in like you say you know off funds like a bit and same as well and it s nice to win but you know it s nice to win when. You know we ve got the players we ve brought to me I think we ve got one of the best squad so I would be surprised if we go into the market in January I m sure we will do the end of the season again but you know I think we ve got it showed last year a strong squad and we ve we ve brought a few more and you know they won the Year Old extra 19 games last season. But worth it because it got Yeah get you into the Champions League with you with the cup when it s cool yeah that felt like a really significant win for Josie because without it s a it s probably a poor season with it it s a good season you know when even if you don t get it or not he still won the League Cup Obviously the charity one game but it s still to draw fees I mean we would read for sure if he s at the ground last year and people are saying you know united on doing so well and I might well money can you when I tell you some about this I don t know I just wanted out isn t it well that s something that s coming from the press and on down in London you know the ones who will support Chelsea and Spurs Well I don t see that many trophies the day itself and these links to other planets rings out in a moment for a while read point blank Lauri s the book forward by Bryan Robson it was my favorite play growing up so you hope to be it saved by what was he like yeah but you know he will result in a slave and you know I think all the stories you know they are the true he s a rebel you know he s you know I mean if people ask me about you know Roy Keane was a fantastic player the difference between the chair was right Brian had scored a few more goals than him I think about 50 goals more from midfield and in those days of pitches weren t as good they were heavy and I saw Honestly I ve trained with him and he s just plows on the obscene I m doing it for England you know when everything looks like they ve got no chance of winning no scoring he s the one who d make the extra yard them push him self and going their goal for this picture is in the book as well which is always with a little peculiar as one of you as a kid how did a lion cope which is another title. Well it says it s a lion cope. We live in which I think you are author of The Lion cope that is and is also one of you a little bit older hold its value. In some very fast swimwear but I look at that book well suppose this obsession with cats lions and scientists was I think is you know I was on holiday at the time and paper was flowing out. That may be the me but I may have got the same journey and I think Ronaldo is copy the trunks in the fashion stuff so yeah pick up a copy of the book look at this picture that s basically where every now and David Beckett got the idea for that model and from. What I ve read of people get hold of the book if they want to get well because it will be a cracking Christmas present for somebody this if they grew up watching United during the ninety s what made love to read this how can people get a hold of planes book Ok if they go on United in focus Stockholm there are options to buy signed and personalized copies and it s also available on Kindle as well so you can get it on you can go but you can get a signed armed personalized by the money myself in time for Christmas so you going to be working hard between now and Christmas got some pens lined up sounds sounds like they still went mainstream but it s just like being a footballer like we did you do the hard track you know the odds and somebody else takes all the glory and that s always the way so that s the way. You know it s a take on what for tonight how you guys feel about the game confident an easy place to go it was not going to be easy like I said you know they work a lot the manager the way brain went in the hole in many of them work and then they actually when they played us they actually won and drew a game against us when he took over from there and they went down but he s he s a good manager and they ll be a tough game but you know we feel like a sad thing we ve got the best squad in the Premier League and that s the boys play well I think they ve they ve got you know enough to beat them easy and it s weeks like this the squad he s going to be tested it s interesting to see how city on the united by 50 this week mind I m not concerned as concerned as some people seem to be about the form I mean we ve scored 4 goals on a number of occasions this season we you know so that we re obviously creative in some respects I know that there are problems there and you know I m not saying that I m really confident about tonight s game because well for a very good side and they don t like I said they don t read it well. I m not so concerned as some people that they would cause some problems but I m confident that we can get results. Do quite well if not win the league Well let s hope so all the best to you thank you for the company talking to us red white and black more is the book as you heard you can get a personalized copy on the website We re back next Tuesday night from 6 talking united on b.b.c.
