AUGUSTA — The Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future announced that 13 Maine organizations have been awarded $497,377 in service provider grants through the Community Resilience Partnership to assist 41 communities across the state to address climate effects and build climate resilience. The 41 communities include Dexter and Guilford.
DOVER-FOXCROFT — A proposed budget totaling $8,302,205 for the 2024-25 fiscal year was approved at the annual town meeting in the Morton Avenue Municipal Building Gymnasium on the morning of Saturday, April 27. The figure will be offset by $4,728,035 in nontax revenues for a net amount of $3,574,170 to be raised through property taxes.

Matthew Polstein estimated Monday that the solar eclipse, which drew a rush of visitors to the Katahdin region and other communities along the path of totality, brought more than $150,000 to his business. That’s more than double the roughly $60,000 the New England Outdoor Center in Millinocket made last April and a needed boost after a lackluster snowmobile season with little snow, said Polstein, the center’s founder and chief executive officer.
