AUGUSTA — Maine’s 2023 County Teachers of the Year cohort launched a new #LoveMaineSchools campaign to coincide with the start of the new school year. The campaign will collect and share positive stories from Maine educators to elevate the teaching profession and celebrate the successes in Maine schools.
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Like many other organizations amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the Thompson Free Library moved a number of popular activities outside away from indoor spaces for health and safety purposes. A Maine State Library grant funded a large tent that was set behind the East Main Street building near River Street for concerts, author readings, and more, but in 2022 the tent collapsed.
DOVER-FOXCROFT — At the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Law Farm visitors can walk miles of trails and look at research projects including current areas on American chestnut trees and another studying the impact of climate change. All the Law Farm offers to the public has been helped in part by the University of Maine School of Forest Resources.

They have become so popular that the state has already reached its goal of installing 100,000 new heat pumps two years before the target date of 2025.
