Carl Ervin, interim director of the new Office of Justice, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (JIDE) and the former associate director of the Multicultural Center (MCC), has also been named the acting director of the MCC, effective Sept. 5. Director Rocio Ayard Ochoa has accepted a position off-campus. A national search will be held at a later date for a permanent director.
May 12, 2021 MACOMB, IL -- Derek Watts, the interim director of the Western Illinois University's Office of Public Safety (OPS), has been named the director of the department, effective June 1. Watts has served as the interim director since March 2019. He becomes the first internal candidate named to the director/chief position. Watts joined OPS in 1998 as a patrol officer. Prospective students and families will now be able to virtually explore each of the room types UHDS offers on campus, as well as the dining centers, from the comfort of their own home.
