The Central Railway (CR) began offering their Content On Demand (COD) infotainment service on Friday, currently offering free entertainment to passengers travelling on 10 of its local trains.
Initially, this service will be available on Mainline locals (CSMT-Kalyan / Karjat/ Kasara route). This will prove beneficial for those travelling on longer routes that take more than an hour or so.
The newly proposed new air-conditioned local will have more than .70 meters per second square acceleration/deceleration capacity.
Cooked food in premium trains (Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto) had already been restored in Dec last year. Ready to eat meals would also continue, IRCTC informed.
