A first batch of 17 tons of native potatoes —which is part of a total of 260 tons to be sold until June— was sent by the Association of Agricultural Producers of the High Andean Zones of Junín (Apezaj) to two chip processing and exporting companies. These are two shipments (7 and 10 tons) delivered to the companies' processing plants located in the Province of Huacho and San Juan de Lurigancho District in Lima, where the fresh potatoes will be processed into chips prior to being exported to the United States market.
