Posted by scottsuhr on On 4/3/21 at 0533 hrs, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle fatality accident south of Sumner, IA near the intersection of 160 th St and Y Ave. A Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Carter Cannon, 18, of Hawkeye, IA was traveling northbound in the 1600 block of Y Ave and entered the west ditch. The Grand Prix struck a culvert, landed on its top on 160 th St, and caught fire. Cannon, the only occupant in the vehicle, died at the scene.
