Posted by scottsuhr on On 4/3/21 at 0533 hrs, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle fatality accident south of Sumner, IA near the intersection of 160 th St and Y Ave.  A Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Carter Cannon, 18, of Hawkeye, IA was traveling northbound in the 1600 block of Y Ave and entered the west ditch.  The Grand Prix struck a culvert, landed on its top on 160 th St, and caught fire.  Cannon, the only occupant in the vehicle, died at the scene.  The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sumner Fire Department, Sumner Ambulance, Bremer...
