The New York Times of the United States was impressed by the world-record cable car routes in Phu Quoc, Sa Pa, and other destinations. According to the New York Times, this is evidence of Vietnam’s spectacular transformation of its economy and tourism industry.

The country is in the middle of a cable-car bonanza, much of it driven by the over-the-top developments of the Sun Group, which feature giant Buddhas, ersatz European enclaves and selfie spots galore.

For many years, destinations such as Mallory Square (Florida, USA), Ipanema Beach (Brazil), Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia) and Santorini (Greece) have been described as the most spectacular place to watch the sun go down. But there is a new contender for the throne in Phu Quoc, Vietnam.

Boasting long beaches with gleaming white sand lying serenely along inviting turquoise waters, Phu Quoc island off the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang has been honoured by the American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler (CN Traveler) as one of the world’s top islands in 2023.
