Southern New Jersey Fishing Report – May 27, 2021 Fluke action is excellent and striper fishing has been productive. John from Cape May Point with a large striper he caught on a clam.  The past two weeks have been spectacular with sea bass opening on the 15th and fluke last weekend, and the fishing did not disappoint. Southern New Jersey Fishing Report – May 6, 2021 May 6, 2021 Now that tautog season is finished, anglers have begun to focus on the re-opening on our black sea bass season (May 15th) and the summer flounder season opening May 22nd. This past week striped bass up to 32 inches have been more cooperative along the beaches and Cape May is starting to see better numbers of bigger bass as the Delaware river post-spawners round the tip. April 29, 2021 Cue the eerie music or maybe “Hallelujah!” – “They’re here!!”  It’s a welcome sight for many anglers working the coastal inlets as bluefish have arrived and by the social media posts they are biting on plugs and metals.  Some of the fish have been close to 10 pounds, so now is the time to hit the jetties.  I heard of bluefish arriving from Manasquan Inlet, Barnegat Inlet, Brigantine, and south almost around the same time in the last 24 hours.  Speaking of the jetties, anglers, have only 2 days left to get a few keeper blackfish as the season officially closes ...
