Ten years ago, much of Smithville disappeared. At roughly 3:47 p.m. on April 27, 2011, an EF-5 tornado tore a path through town. Its winds, which reached 205 miles per hour, devastated the small town and the people who had built their lives there. The storm destroyed 150 homes, 14 businesses and four churches.
